@arab.amp AMP Gathering 2026 is Saturday Nov 7 at @tac_oakland
This year we are happy to host @taqsim.live from Detroit!
Taqsim is an Arabic electronic and experimental duo (aka Layan Srour and Yvonne Pruneau), rooted in improvisation and personal soundscapes recorded in Lebanon. Drawing on these textures and a search for the feeling of home, Taqsim blends synthesizers, sampled drums, and layered soundscapes to connect Detroit to Beirut energy.

Beyond honored to be a part of the 3.1.3 Spacial Audio Festival. We’ll be performing live at 6pm this Friday at Andy Arts. Some new stuff and some old stuff. You know the deal.

Andy Arts becomes an immersive listening environment for this two-day activation. Across three rooms, each outfitted with at least 14 speakers, sound will move around, above, and through the audience in live performances, installations, and fixed-media works.
Live performances will take place Friday & Saturday evenings featuring local and east coast sound artists.

Taqsim / The High Dive by @taqsim.live

WE BREATHED TOGETHER.

Last Friday, @cadieuxstage became a living, breathing organism as @taqsim.live carried @theearandtheeye through four states of body and mind: Suffocation. Dissonance. Sublime. Volition.

The room inhaled. The walls expanded and contracted. Sound moved through our bodies while images flickered across our collective nervous system. At moments we held our breath. At others, we surrendered to the pulse.

An enormous thank you to @layanjsrour and @noisegrowsonplums of Taqsim for becoming the heart and lungs of this strange creature—transforming analogue and electronic instruments, field recordings and thoughtfully composed moving images into something we didn’t simply hear and see, but felt.

From the constriction of Suffocation, through the tremors of Dissonance, into the opening of the Sublime and finally the release of Volition, you reminded us that listening and seeing is humanity.

Much gratitude to @hiraskitchen__ for nourishing the organism and keeping our bodies very happily fed.

To @_softprop and @convivialcollab for circulating the necessary fluids through the system.

To everyone at Cadieux Stage, for once again giving this unruly body a place to live, breathe and make noise.

And to everyone who came through the doors, listened, watched, ate, drank and gave themselves over to the experience:

YOU WERE THE HEARTBEAT.

Without you, it’s just a room.

With you, it breathes.

And finally, we exhaled.

🖤
