One year of fighting. NOW it's 15th days of healing. And I’m still standing. 🙏🏽❤️‍🩹
October 5 marked one full year of being in and out of the hospital almost every two months.
Now I’m 15 days post-surgery and still on the road to recovery, taking it one moment, one day, and one step at a time.
This journey has been painful and definitely uncomfortable, but I’m so happy I finally made it through the hardest part. 🙏🏽✨
Healing isn’t always linear, but I’m still here—and I’m still moving forward. ❤️‍🩹✨ by @taraluvdiva

September 21, 2026 — Surgery Day

My surgery was supposed to start at 7:00 a.m.

My surgeon told me it would take approximately 4½ hours.

Well… NOPE. 😂

What was expected to be a 4½-hour surgery turned into 12 hours.

Twelve.
Hours.

And when I finally came out, I was told that the surgery had been completed.

But honestly, I don't think anyone can fully explain what going through something like this feels like until you've actually lived it.

Diverticulitis has been a journey that has been difficult for me to put into words. It wasn't simply, “My stomach hurts.” There was pain, uncertainty, hospital stays, tests, fear, and trying to understand what was happening inside my own body.

And then came surgery.

Afterward, I was moved to my room to begin the healing process.

September 22nd was painful. Very painful.

I slept off and on throughout the day. Honestly, I slept a LOT. My body was exhausted, and I knew it needed the rest.

Now it's September 23rd, and I'm still in pain.

But I'm here.

I'm healing.

I'm taking it one day at a time.

I don't have all the words yet because I'm still living this part of the story.

But one thing I can say…

The surgery is completed.

And after everything diverticulitis has put me through, that's a sentence I am incredibly grateful to be able to say.

Now comes the healing. ❤️‍🩹 by @taraluvdiva

“Three Emotions I’m Feeling Right Now…”
😊 HAPPY
I’m happy because I finally made it to this point.
After everything I’ve been through, I’m finally getting the surgery that I’ve been waiting for. There’s a part of me that’s saying, “Okay… we’re finally moving forward.”
😔 SAD
I’m sad because, honestly, this is surgery.
No matter how ready I am for the next chapter, there’s still something emotional about knowing I have to go into a hospital and let someone operate on my body.
😨 SCARED
And I’m scared because I don’t know exactly what the experience is going to feel like.
I don't know how I'm going to feel when I wake up. I don't know what recovery is going to look like. And anytime you have surgery, there are things you simply can't control.
❤️ And then there's ME…
But underneath all three of those emotions is hope.
Hope that I'm going to come through this safely.
Hope that this chapter will finally close.
Hope that I'll wake up and say:
“Okay, Tara… now what?”
And maybe that's what this whole journey has been about.
Getting to the other side.
You could end the vlog with:
“So yes, I'm happy. I'm sad. I'm scared. I'm nervous. But I'm also ready. And I'm packing my bag, because Monday is coming whether I'm emotionally ready or not. So… let's do this.” ❤️ by @taraluvdiva

✨ September: My Next Chapter
September is giving unbothered, unapologetic, and completely ME.
I’m stepping into my next chapter and becoming the new Tara—more intentional, more focused, and no longer worried about what everyone else is doing.
This month is about getting my life and business in order: a few appointments, working on brand deals, resetting and refreshing my office, preparing for an upcoming medical procedure, and eventually taking the time I need to reset and recharge afterward.
No rushing. No proving. No explaining.
Just me, becoming her—one decision, one reset, and one new chapter at a time.
Welcome to September. Let’s see what this next chapter brings. 🤎✨
Follow along on my social media, but especially YouTube, where you can follow my journey, lifestyle, business, beauty, fashion, and everything in between.

Manifesting this moment. ✨
One day, my name will appear on the cover of a major business magazine—not just because I dreamed it, but because I built the life to match the vision.
I am becoming a bestselling author, a successful entrepreneur, and the founder of a brand that empowers women 50+ to embrace beauty, confidence, and purpose. My books, skincare, journals, candles, and creative work will impact lives around the world.
I attract opportunities, media features, partnerships, speaking engagements, and abundance. Every step I take today is preparing me for the doors that are opening tomorrow.
This isn't wishful thinking. It's a declaration of where I'm headed.
I'm not chasing success. I'm becoming the woman success recognizes.
See you on the cover. ✨ #Manifesting #AuthorLife by @taraluvdiva

What a Week It's Been... ❤️
Last Friday, I went in for my scheduled colonoscopy, hoping to finally get some answers. I had followed all of the instructions, completed the bowel prep, and was ready for the procedure. Unfortunately, my bowel wasn't completely clear, so my doctor couldn't safely proceed. The colonoscopy had to be rescheduled, which meant I'd have to go through the entire prep process all over again.
For the rescheduled procedure on the 15th, the preparation was even more challenging. Two days before I could even start my clear liquid diet, I had to take Dulcolax laxatives. The laxatives caused me severe abdominal pain before I even drank the bowel prep solution. Then I had to complete the full liquid prep, making it my second colonoscopy prep in less than a week.
On the 15th, I returned hoping this time everything would go as planned. Sadly, it didn't.
During the colonoscopy, my doctor found severe narrowing in my sigmoid colon. They first tried the regular colonoscope, then switched to a smaller scope, but neither could safely get through the narrowed area. Instead of risking a tear or other serious complication, my doctor made the safest decision and stopped the procedure.
After the colonoscopy, things became even more difficult. I developed complications that sent me back to the hospital. What I expected to be a routine outpatient procedure turned into another hospital stay, and I'm now recovering through the Hospital at Home program.
This has been one of the most physically and emotionally exhausting weeks I've experienced. Two colonoscopy preps. Severe pain. A canceled procedure. Another procedure that couldn't be completed. A return to the hospital. And now, my next step is meeting with a colorectal surgeon to discuss treatment options.
Even through all of this, I choose gratitude. I'm thankful for my doctors who put my safety first, my incredible nurses and care team, my family and friends, and everyone who has prayed, checked on me, and sent words of encouragement.
I'm finally back home, resting, healing, and taking it one day at a time. This journey isn't over, but I'm trusting God every step of the way. Thank you for walking this jour by @taraluvdiva
