we sustain 🌳 - devised by tara tucci & valentina giannattasio

this post is LONG overdue, but i’m still so grateful and proud of everyone involved in @we_sustain_sp
with an attendance of over 120, we were able to donate clothes to multiple organizations, canned food, as well as items for a women’s shelter. i’m endlessly thankful for the community involved. this would not have been possible without @val_giannattasio_dance - we make such a good team and i’m so excited to continue working together in the future. the full performance is linked in my bio, filmed by stephen minder! 💚

dear marylou 💐 in loving memory of my great grandmother, marylou reece (1935 - 2022) @rudanceextensions

my grandmother was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer about two weeks before she passed away peacefully on the night on april 25th, 2022. when she was diagnosed, i was in tech for a show at school, and i wasn’t able to visit her. i am a very closed off person, and my grandmother was the first real loss I’ve ever experienced. i didn’t attend her funeral, because quite honestly, i didn’t want it to feel real, and it’s made me feel very guilty for a long time. sad is the last thing i wanted this piece to be, loss can be hard, and grieving is okay, but this piece is dedicated to celebrating marylou and her wonderful life. thank you to my amazing cast and friends, sophie, valentina, and bella, for helping me remember that losses can be celebrated. i am forever grateful, and truly could not have done this without you. to stephen, thank you for transforming this piece onstage, making it more than i could’ve ever wanted. to dance extensions, thank you for giving me the opportunity to put this onstage, and for being the most supportive group of people, you all are beautiful people. ☺️

revival - choreographed by tara tucci

so happy i got the opportunity to work with @rudanceextensions on a piece for their annual student showcase. back in september i never knew how much i would grow to love & resonate with this piece, and it was a joy to see it come together on stage!
