DCI Summer 2025.

Accepting the fact that I aged out last year was a hard pill to swallow, but being on the road and helping be a small part of the final sunset really helped ease things for me. I feel like I finally have the closure I need now.

Here are just SOME of the amazing people who made my summer one to remember.

Until next time, DCI! 🤠

“The Troopers DM is 35 I’m pretty sure”.

I miss the performances, the friends, the fans, all of it. What I’d do to be able to run it back again.

It’s been an extremely emotional offseason, but It’s so comforting to know I don’t have to go through it alone!
I love you all, and I hope you’ve all been well. ❤️🤠

$Today marks two years since Hussein Murray was taken from this earth from three criminals who couldn’t measure up to the smallest fraction of his character. We desperately miss you, jiddo. ❤️❤️ by @tarekmurray$

“Back to the way that things were.”

It’s been one week by since we have closed come from away, and every time I reflect back, I struggle to find the words to explain how much this experience has meant to me.

I never really thought much of this show when I auditioned for it. But after the end of each rehearsal, I found myself resonating with it more than I could’ve imagined. The story of 7,000 people stranded, stressed and just in need of a helping hand, and the people of Newfoundland answered the call.

Getting to represent my American, Canadian, and middle eastern heritage in this show was an absolute honor, and one that I will hope to do again someday.

I love this Cast, Crew, and pit orchestra endlessly.

“Tonight, we honor what was lost, but we also commemorate what was found!”

I almost chose not to attend DCI finals this weekend, but I’m so glad I made the trip out.

Some highlights include:

Getting to see SOA make finals for the first time in 13 years and see The Troopers make Finals for the fifth year in a row,

Got to perform with Phoenix once again,

Won some tires,

Phantom regiment alumni corps tearing the house down,

And best of all:
I got to see the most wonderful humans who remind me that there is still so much light in a world full of darkness. This weekend reminded me that there is anything unlike drum corps.

Yours Truly,

Tarek.

P.S: I promise not to shave my face entirely next time. 🤠 by @tarekmurray

After a six year break from the stage, I came back!

And who better to have done it with than @avon.players?!? We have just completed our monumental production of A Gentleman’s guide to Love and Murder, and it still hasn’t hit me yet that we are done!

Being away from theatre as long as I was gave me doubts that I would be able to keep up with everyone, but the group I had around me took me in and showed me that I still had it in me. You all were truly the best cast/crew I could ask for. My love for you all is endless. ❤️

Thank you for taking a chance on me, Avon players. Until next time!! by @tarekmurray
