Last year I said that I wouldn’t be attending any wedding where I don’t know both couples personally and my friends said, “De play” because why is this the third mutual friend wedding already this year and I legit have like two more to go😂.

Wedding Szn is officially open for the year!!!

This time last week, I had such a blast celebrating with my friend and the love of his life, so much so that I forgot to eat all the food that was available at the wedding and when I say there was food!!!! I mean yoruba weddings are never beating the allegations of over feeding people 😂😂😂

I also love just how much Nigerian weddings bring about new connections and reunions❤️❤️❤️

Today at work, I witnessed a moment that brought tears to my eyes and reminded me of all the sacrifices my mummy has made for me.

The Moment:
A man was sitting under an umbrella when a woman walked by with a beautiful black dress for sale. The moment he saw her, his whole face lit up with excitement. It was so clear that he wanted that dress for his daughter. I watched him try to negotiate the price, but at some point his expression changed; he realized he couldn’t afford it. He even emptied his pockets to show her that he was offering all the money he had. When the woman walked away, he looked so heartbroken.

Long story short, he eventually managed to buy the dress, and the way he beamed with joy while packing it up melted my heart.

What truly moved me was how that interaction brought back a memory from my childhood, when I wanted a pair of shoes for Christmas and my mum couldn’t buy them. Back then, I thought she was simply refusing, but now I understand she just couldn’t afford it. Over the years, I’ve watched her work tirelessly to give me the best of everything within her power. So when she turned 60 a few months ago, it meant so much to me that I was able to celebrate her in every way I could.

I owe alot to my mummy, and nothing will ever be too much for her. ❤️❤️ #Forevermygee by @taremichaels
