When I talk about the issues happening in Oregon, the left’s favorite response is, “Then move. Nobody is keeping you here.”

But, you know what? This is my home. This is our home.

We’re not going to let corrupt politicians and loud, ugly voices push families out and destroy what makes this state so special. We’re staying. We’re fighting. We’re not going anywhere.

Oregon belongs to the Lord, and it’s worth stewarding and protecting. It’s our responsibility.

We’re up for the fight — are you? taken in Portland, Oregon by @tarenfeist

The Estate Tax — Perhaps the most egregious tax in Oregon… taxing people AGAIN, after they’re d*ad. Tina Kotek says she’d consider changing Oregon’s estate tax IF the state can find another way to replace the revenue.

AND THERE IT IS. Why does the conversation always start with finding replacement revenue instead of examining where government could cut spending?

Restructure budgets? Reduce spending? Find efficiencies? Apparently, those aren’t part of this particular answer.

Oregonians deserve a serious conversation about tax reform that doesn’t automatically assume government must collect the same amount of money somewhere else.

Why is spending less never the starting point for Democrat lawmakers. by @tarenfeist

Oregon’s Universal Health Plan Governance Board has been developing a publicly funded healthcare system covering everyone who lives in Oregon.

WHAT COULD IT COST?

Updated modeling estimates Oregon would need to replace approximately $35.5 BILLION PER YEAR in revenue beyond existing public funding to finance the plan.

Funding options modeled by the state include:

• An ADDITIONAL 10.1% healthcare personal income tax on affected income above 200% of the federal poverty level
• Approximately 9.6% employer payroll tax/contribution (first $500,000 of payroll exempt in the model)
• Higher corporate income taxes
• An increase in the Corporate Activity Tax — Oregon’s hidden sales tax
• Higher lodging taxes

The state says the new system would replace premiums, deductibles and copays.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR INSURANCE?

• OHP/Medicaid would transition into the universal state system
• The state plan would become the comprehensive coverage system, with private insurance effectively being dismantled.
• Oregon residents would be covered regardless of immigration status, including people LIVING HERE ILLEGALLY.
• You could purchase supplemental private coverage, but would still be required to pay the universal healthcare tax.

SO WHERE IS THE PLAN?

Oregon law required the board to submit its comprehensive implementation plan by September 15, 2026.

That deadline came and went. No comprehensive plan!!!

Rep Dwayne Yunker is reporting that the Legislative Counsel determined there wasn’t statutory authority to simply extend the deadline — but they did it anyways. Sneaky!

Now, weeks before an election, Oregonians are learning about a proposal involving tens of billions of dollars every year and a fundamental restructuring of our healthcare.

I just have one question for you: Can you think of a single government agency that offers quality service, good communication, transparency and efficiency? Because I can’t!!!

We cannot vote for Tina KoTAX this November, Oregon! She is going to bankrupt our state! by @tarenfeist

Opening weekend of Oregon deer season was a memorable one! 🦌

Saw a ton of Roosevelt elk, a handful of does, and got to spend some time hiking around the hills with my people, doing what we love most.

Baby boy is growing bigger every day, and we’re officially in the third trimester! 💙 Thankfully, my legs are still hiking strong and my internal drive to punch ALL my tags this fall is even stronger. 😂 🙏🏻

Buck deer, Rocky Mountain elk, and oryx… here we go!

Wow. Christine Drazan was outstanding at this week’s forum with Tina Kotek!!! The contrast between these two candidates could not have been clearer.

Kotek repeatedly pointed to Trump and federal policy. Drazan focused on fiscal responsibility, affordability, Oregon’s economy and measuring government by outcomes, not how much money it spends.

It’s time for a new direction. Oregonians, WATCH THE ENTIRE FORUM. @christine4oregon

Every Democrat politician in Oregon is campaigning on a woman’s right to off her own children.

Literally, all of them.

Can Val Hoyl even speak without telling a lie? This is mind numbing. 🫠 by @tarenfeist

Today is Scott’s last day of his summer fishing season in Gold Beach, and to say he has worked hard this year would be an understatement. He’s been salmon fishing for nearly 100 days straight (with a couple tuna charter trips sprinkled in) but for the most part, they have been grinding for salmon every. single. day. I think he’s had TWO days off since June 21???

Splitting our time with him in Southern Oregon and me up here in Northern Oregon has definitely been an adjustment, but we made it work. I’ve spent countless hours driving back and forth this summer, planning around the kids’ schedules and work events (very thankful for a reliable pickup truck), and he has spent countless hours on the water working hard for our family.

I’m SO excited to have my husband home this fall, do some normal family stuff, and sneak in a few hunting adventures together—while 6-7 months pregnant! 😳

You worked your butt off this summer, Scott Feist, and I’m so excited you’re coming home!
