We lost our homes, the memories with family, the art on our wall, the birth place of our boys, the schools where they built friendships. I never thought I’d leave The Palisades, it was where I planned to plant roots for the foreseeable future, where I wanted my kids to be raised.

I never thought in a million years I’d ever write this post. I’m so sorry for everyone that lost this gem of a town, it meant so much to me and so many others. I was blessed to have experienced it and I know I won’t find another like it. Trying to accept it now, it all feels surreal, like a bad dream that I’m gonna wake up from.

Thank you to everyone who reached out. I’m so sorry to everyone who lost their homes or businesses, it’s just horrible, I knew so many of you and will miss everything about our hidden slice of heaven in LA.

I got a piece of advice: In this moment it’s ok to just feel what you feel. Let it out, don’t mask it, this is not normal, just let yourself be ok with feeling everything.

Sad. Just sad. 😢

RIP Pacific Palisades, you will be reborn, just with a different kind of magic. by @tarik

I’m incredibly honored to have been cast as the lead, Rami, in NOOR. From the moment I read the script by Writer/Director @nijla1, I was blown away. It’s no surprise it has garnered so many prestigious awards even before production.

I won’t reveal too much, but I can say I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done and the experience on set was unforgettable. A huge thank you to Nijla for creating a world that challenges narratives and redefines perspectives. Projects like this fuel my passion for storytelling and pushing the boundaries to bring underrepresented voices to the forefront.

Here’s some of the recognition NOOR has received for its screenplay:

• Best Screenplay Award, Urbanworld Film Festival/BET - 2014
• Selection, Sundance Screenwriters Intensive - 2014
• Selection, Film Independent Producer’s Lab - 2017
• Sundance Institute FilmTwo project - 2018
• Sundance Talent Forum - 2020
• Winner, The Athena List - 2020
• The Black List - Muslim List Selection - 2021
• Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF) - First Place Narrative Film Grant - 2022

Thank you to @hamzahsaman_csa for presenting me with the opportunity. 🥙 by @tarik

Love Language: BTS Shots

So blessed to have such an amazing cast and crew come together to make something that was just an idea months ago.

In this wild ass city of LA, I’ve passed on many roles that didn’t do justice to Middle Eastern narratives. I realized that if we want our stories told right, we have to tell them ourselves. Love Language was born from this determination—a modern love story from the perspective of third culture kids in America.

This story goes beyond immigration and religion; it’s about love, laughter, and the universal dramas we all face. Arabs laugh, cry, and love just like everyone else. We deserve stories that show our full humanity and propel us forward.

I couldn’t have asked for a better partner, @maxkolo24, on this. Through every high and low, Maxwell’s optimism kept this dream alive. Thank you, Maxwell.

To the crew: I’m blown away how everyone came together to make what we thought was going to be impossible possible. @malakrayem & @cmball_ led that set like 🧈 super impressed with their work ethic and always keeping an incredible attitude on set. You and the rest of the cast and crew are super inspiring.

There are too many people to thank, but I’ll try:

Crew:
Director: @malakrayem
DOP: @cmball_
Producers: @maxkolo24 & @tarik
AP: @zoeahaney
Writer: @omarmullick
Casting: @rollaselbak & @arabamericancasting

Cast:
Ibrahim: @jay.abdo
Maya: @madamefofo
Layla: @jessicadamouni
Max: @theartofbernardo

Special thank you to:
@itsasouki
@zaderrss
@leila.muhaizen

In collaboration with @baklava.app 🤍

Thank you all for bringing Love Language to life. Here’s to many more stories to come.
