Does the thought of wool make you a little itchy? It’s time to think again! 🐑✨ It’s not uncommon for people to scrunch up their noses at the mention of wool. Maybe it’s because wool products of years past could be scratchy and uncomfortable. But wool has come a long way! Thanks to improvements in wool milling, the wool we use at Tartan Chickadee® is wonderfully soft and smooth to the touch, easy to care for, and made to last for years to come. ❤️ And there’s more to love! Wool is a natural, renewable, and biodegradable fiber, making it a wonderful alternative to petroleum-based synthetics. Curious about wool? Swipe through to learn more, then hop over to our blog for more of our thoughts on wool and tartan (plaid). 🐑 Let’s bring wool back into your wardrobe! by @tartanchickadee

It’s never too late to try something new! 🛶🍂 Last summer, a friend took us on a kayaking adventure at a local lake, and what a thrill it was! Paddling across glassy water among the reeds, ducks, and dragonflies… the magical views, the peace, the calm, the quiet. Unbeatable. Priceless. ❤️ We were fortunate enough to get out on the water twice this year, and the fall colors were simply breathtaking! And the air… oh, the clean Alaskan air is indescribable. 🍁🏔️ Of course, our Tundra Twilight tartan (plaid) lap blanket was the perfect accessory for our adventure! Made from 100% lambswool, it’s a cozy, durable companion for taking the chill off after a paddle or enjoying a quiet moment by the water. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that remind us to slow down, try something new, and take in the beauty around us. Guests stepped inside our little cabin, marveled at the beauty of Denali, and discovered the stories behind our Alaskan-inspired tartans (plaid). Fall! 🍁 Our favorite time of the year! Autumn is a quick season here in Alaska but the moments are magical and memorable. This is your sign to get outside and enjoy fall in Alaska. 🍂🏔️ The colors are absolutely stunning this time of year in Interior Alaska—bright yellows, shades of green, vibrant reds, and beautiful golden hues. It’s an absolute wonder to behold! We were fortunate enough to take a little kayaking adventure and were amazed by the riot of color all around us. And as we paddled along, we couldn’t help but think of all the colors we chose for our exclusive Tundra Twilight tartan (plaid)—an original tartan (plaid) inspired by the colors of a Denali fall. It really is like wearing a little piece of an Alaskan autumn. 🍁 Find this gorgeous tartan (plaid) on our website and follow along for more views of Alaska, the adventures we take, and the inspiration behind our original tartans (plaid)! ❤️ by @tartanchickadee
This is what “fueling our creativity” looks like at Tartan Chickadee®… 😂🥤🥔 A little beverage, a bag of chips, a chance to sit down, and a bit of people-watching. We love watching the guests at Holland America Denali walk by, peering in, laughing, and searching for the restaurant. We’re always inspired by the tourists who come to Alaska with wide eyes and a sense of wonder. They’re just as excited to be here as we are! 🏔️❤️ They’re fascinated by Tartan Chickadee® and the stories our original tartan (plaid) tell about Alaska and the backwoods we call home. We had such a fun week sharing, visiting, and meeting people from all over the world. 🌎 Follow along for more Alaska, more stories, and a peek inside the little studio where we create our original tartan (plaid) accessories! 🐦🏔️ by @tartanchickadee
