I keep being told that I need to introduce myself, so here it is: an introduction to little old me ☺️ #writer #writing #loverofbooks #allthingsbooks #allthingsbooksandcoffee by @tarynkaneauthor

An intro to my debut novel ‘A Pregnant Pause’. A contemporary fiction about a woman who fakes a pregnancy for a paid year off work, appealing to readers who enjoyed Queenie, I’m a Fan, Sorrow and Bliss, and Yellowface, and to those that enjoyed the Fleabag series. Available through Amazon, Waterstones, Barnes & Noble etc

That’s what the main character does in A Pregnant Pause. First she straps on a makeshift fake pregnancy bump, using blankets and a bicycle helmet - IN THE MIDDLE OF A HEATWAVE!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ - and then she upgrades to weighty silicone bellies, during record-breaking temperatures 🥵

Here’s my previous post (for World Mental Health Day) as a carousel to stop me beating myself up (I know, the irony right?! 🫣) about chopping half the text off in a reel format 🤪

It’s World Mental Health Day, and so I am reposting this as a reminder not be so hard on ourselves. Even when we think we’re not achieving enough, we really bloody are. Where you are now, was once your dream. Be proud of yourself, you’re doing great 🥰 (apologies that the formatting has gone a little awry 🤪)
