What a time we had at the @newyorkcomiccon , our first time. My idea as to try an out of state convention.

I’ll have more to say for my overall city tribute, but as for the convention, it was very different than that of the west coast counterparts. Heavy on the anime, light on the Star Wars/star trek.

But the thing is, New York is the PERFECT Convention.

Many comic books and CBMs always takes place in a massive metropolis, many that mimic New York City. From Gotham to Wakanda, to New York itself, the city that has often been the model for the backdrop of many heroic stories DESERVES to be part of the celebration, hence the cosplay, hence the attendance of 250k.

New York comic con is also one of the best crowd flow wise. Alleys and walkways that would normally gridlock and stopped, still managed to flow well. A testament to the streets and fast walking sidewalk culture of the city.

This convention is a true celebration of the city and has celebrated its successes from the Knicks to Mamdani, everything and everyone was celebrated and well represented. I loved everything about it, and just like the city, I yearn to return to it.

One final convention to go for 2026, this time back closer to home, LACC Saturday.
