Vale Tim Curry…

Thanks to my Dad I have been listening to Tim Curry and the Rocky Horror picture show since I can remember. Whenever I would visit him he would put the CD on in the car and sing all the songs out loud, quizzing me on the song names and telling me random facts about the show, “right Tash, Meatloaf sings this one - he’s a fantastic rockstar, remind me to show you Bat Out of Hell next”, and “did you know I made it into the paper when I dressed up as Riff Raff for an interactive Live Theatre performance of RHPS!”.

When I was 10/11 years old, Dad finally put on the movie and one of his favourite musicals became mine as well; “now, don’t tell your mother, but you absolutely have to watch this now, it cant wait any longer”. From the moment ‘Science Fiction’ started playing and the opening credits started rolling in, and then seeing Tim Curry on that screen dressed in drag, something changed forever.

One of my fondest memories was seeing Dad do the Time Warp as we watched the movie, even though I was definitely embarrassed at the time 😆

Tim Curry, and specifically his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, showed so many people including myself that it was okay to be loud, seductive, theatrical, queer, and most importantly, unapologetically themselves. He was exactly himself and took up as much space as possible, something I looked up to as I grew older and now still.
I’ve been to a couple interactive live shows now, and taken friends to experience the magic as well, I’m so glad these shows are still happening.

Thank you Tim Curry for creating a rainbow of characters for so many wonderfully strange people to admire and feel connected to.

Frankie has finally made it home to the great Transylvania in the sky 🖤💋 by @tash_french

I feel like Matt only agrees to holding pads so he gets to laugh at me even more 🤣🥲 wouldn’t have it any other way though!

constantly fine tuning and working on the small details to strengthen the full picture. Although it can sometimes feel frustrating feeling like “why haven’t I got this yet”, I get to look back to videos a year ago and can see just how much my technique, power, and experience has progressed - which is pretty damn cool.

Next fight is 3 weeks out 🤞🏼

Last weekend I had my first amateur fight on @muaythaivictoria !

While we didn’t get the result we wanted I’m still so proud for just getting in there, and showcasing the new skills we had been working on.

Massive thank you to my corner team, Matt and Dylan , for giving up your time to help me prepare for this fight, and for looking out for me and stopping the fight when you did. I hope I made you proud with what I could show. I couldn’t do this without you, and I appreciate you both greatly 🙏🏼
The next one is ours!

Big thank you to my @smacgym family, you guys really know how to make a girl feel supported. Thank you to Dazza and Ross @sbisa_industries for always being there watching over me, and sharing your advice.

And a massive thank you to my wonderful partner @jackson.caddy , who continues to stand by me while I find new ways stressing him out😬
I love you🫶🏼

This definitely isn’t the last you’ll be seeing of me, I’ll be back in there before you know it (sorry Mum & Dad, you raised a determined daughter ❤️)

Last weekend I had the opportunity to travel to WA to take part in some advanced training for Krav Maga and successfully completed the BJMA Urban Tactics Course alongside BJMA brothers and sisters from all over Australia and NZ! 🤩

A massive thank you to Steve Furmedge and the instructor team who ran a fantastic and effective course, and had a wealth of knowledge to share with us to improve our self-defence and preservation.
We tested our base level Krav skills and theory, worked on different strategies for better situational awareness, effective team work and communication strategies in high stress environments, and discussed realistic expectations of self defence.

From a psychological perspective, I really enjoyed how mentally stimulating and well thought out a lot of exercises and pressure tests were. Everything comes into play with self-defence, and you can’t have the physical capability without the mental processes.

I’m looking forward to the next one 💪🏼 by @tash_french

After 1.5 years of hard work and late nights, I officially graduated from my Advanced Graduate Diploma of Psychology (with a distinction !) 🎓🎉

It meant the world to walk the stage with my biggest supporters (loudly) cheering me on, that truly made my day and is a sound/feeling I’ll never forget!
I love you guys so very much, thank you for all you have done for me, and your constant support throughout my studies 🥹❤️ by @tash_french
