I don’t even know where to begin. This book gave me the exact same feeling I had when I read ACOTAR for the first time. Like, THAT good.

The world-building is PHENOMENAL. THE CHARACTERS ARE EXCEPTIONAL. The FMC and MMC’s character arcs are so disgustingly beautiful. This book is haunting, imaginative, and surprisingly unique. I have genuinely never read anything quite like it.

I’ve seen people compare this to The Stonewater Kingdom duet, and I’m going to be so honest here… this book hits different for me, y’all. It is in a league of its own.

The portrayal of Brennen’s grief and revenge is so tangible—you can literally feel it as you read. Bea is such a complex, beautiful FMC. The tension. The yearning. The emotional climax. UGH. And that twist?!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

And the ending? THE ENDING HAD ME IN A CHOKEHOLD I WILL NEVER ESCAPE. I’m so serious. My heart was POUNDING. Like visceral reactions through the roof! 😮‍💨

It’s literally so good I just bought a copy and shipped it across the freaking country so my bestie can read it 😂 THAT good.

This is officially in my top 10 favorite books of all time. Without a doubt, the best book I’ve read this year 🖤

Let me tell you what sets this book apart from others I typically love. This is not a trope-heavy book, and I LOVE tropes. This is not a smutty book, and I am absolutely an enjoyer of spice. And this is not your typical damsel-in-distress-turns-warrior story.

This is true dark fantasy with no spice, meaningful character arcs, and genuinely haunting lore. The plot is so thick and layered that it will leave you gasping for air.

And Lucy and Noah. LUCY AND NOAH. I desperately want a love story to blossom between them. I NEED to know what this tether between them is, and there are SO many questions I still need answered!! 😩

Mark my words: this series will become a movie or TV show. It has a haunting vibe reminiscent of City of Angels, Constantine, and Legion. I’m telling you, reading this book feels like watching an actual movie. The atmosphere, the lore, the characters, the sheer depth of the plot—IT IS BREATHTAKING 🖤🥀

And yes, of course I cried.

Oh, Ever and Elivander 😩

I’ll start by saying that betrayal is my favorite micro-trope especially in the context of enemies-to-lovers. This book absolutely is true to its name, Betrayals of the Broken.

Ever is morbid as hell. She is jaded by her trauma and the many betrayals of her life, and that is personified in her absence of true connection and ability to openly love in relationships. And the same can be said for Elivander.
These two are very much the poster children for lonely but not alone.

I was enjoying the book until we got a glimpse of Eli’s POV and then I was DEVOURING the book. Getting to see inside of that dead boy’s mind just did it for me! There’s one thing I love more than anything and it’s a dead boy and dead girl trying to resist falling in love 🖤🥀

There are twists, there is torture, there is death, and there are brutal betrayals around every corner. The stump scene… UGH, talk about a true steamy WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL JUST HAPPENED?!

Read this book because Eli is DADDY. And honestly, Ever is daddy, too! 🔥

and the second book is out now, and it’s EVEN SPICIER AND EVEN BETTER and will leave you gasping for air 💀

🥀 ARC REVIEW 🥀 Wow. This is an absolute literary masterpiece! It feels neglectful to call this a story, this feels to me more like an epic tale. A beautifully crafted, immersive tale. Absolutely exceptional world-building and the lore is just so rich and original.

Myn and Crow…. Absolute swoon-worthy, flawed MCs. Their teacher-student dynamic mixed with snarky banter and a HEAVY dose of murderous vengeance makes this story truly unforgettable. And the reader will get to experience this most EXCRUCIATINGLY slowest of burns. The payoff, I said THE PAYOFF, whew! Nothing like it! 😮‍💨

I loved that the author chose to make Crow a physically terrifying character, one that traditional romantasy books would stray away from. As I read, I pictured a 90s Trent Reznor, and the author agreed that was pretty on par (WHICH IM OBSESSED WITH) 🖤🩸

And I WEPT like a child at the ending (no, it’s not a sad ending—I’m just a baby 😂). It gives an entirely new meaning to “my treasure.” I absolutely recommend adding this to your TBR—get ready to experience something truly magical and unique.

🥀 ARC REVIEW 🥀 The Bride of Stone is a phenomenal read. It centers on Estegonde (Gon), Durlain’s aunt from The Death-Made Prince, and gives us the opportunity to see her struggle to survive within a fantasy patriarchy where her father and brothers are absolutely BRUTAL menaces.

I ADORE Gon. I love the way she takes the situation she was given, all the trauma she has endured throughout her life, and all the sacrifices and surrendering she has been forced into, and turns it into something beautiful.

Gon is the ultimate embodiment of the idea that sometimes, to dismantle oppressive systems, women have to do it from the inside.

And I absolutely loved the ending of the book. There is a real GEM of an Easter egg that I am dying to talk about. I hope other readers catch it too, because it is such a profound moment for Errik.

This is such an exceptional novella with surprising depth. I highly recommend it! It is easily digestible, adds so much context to The Death-Made Prince, and can be read in either order. Push this baby to the tippity top of your TBR because it comes out on October 13th!! ✨🖤✨
