🚗 Driving for your business? Don’t just track the miles—track the details.
If you use your vehicle for business, good mileage records can make a big difference when it’s time to prepare your taxes.
Make sure you’re keeping track of:
📅 Date of the trip
📍 Where you went
💼 Business purpose
🚗 Business miles driven
And don’t wait until tax season to try to remember where you drove six months ago. 😂 Keeping up with your mileage throughout the year makes things much easier later.
Quick reminder: Your regular commute between home and your main workplace is generally not deductible business mileage.

Estimated tax payment reminder 📅

The third federal estimated tax payment for 2026 is due tomorrow, September 15.

This deadline may apply if you earn income that isn’t fully covered by withholding—such as self-employment, business, freelance, investment, or other income.

If you’re required to make estimated payments, don’t forget to submit yours by the deadline.

One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is:

"Everything I buy for my business is a write-off."

Not quite.

For an expense to generally qualify as a business deduction, it must be ordinary and necessary for operating your business. Keeping accurate records and saving your receipts can make tax time much smoother.

If you're ever unsure whether an expense may qualify, it's always better to ask before claiming it.
