The biggest freak & love in my life asked me to marry him at home on Christmas which also happened to be the 9 year anniversary of us meeting and falling for each other. I am so blown away that someone I admire, love so much and think is so cool could even conceive of hanging out with me for a long long time. To say that this year has tested both of us would be an understatement. It feels so good to cap the year off with cause for celebration. I am so full of gratitude going into 2026. I love my family and friends immensely. I love my cat Toody and I love Cody!

We’re collecting money for friends and family in Jamaica who were impacted by Hurricane Melissa, specifically in rural areas of St Elizabeth and Manchester Parish where there is concern that conventional aid organizations may not reach. A portion of funds raised will be sent immediately as cash aid, a portion will fund shipped barrels of food, first aid, and personal care items.

This is a dynamic situation and we are reacting to needs as they occur. We’re coordinating with family on the ground and churches in their communities as distribution points. We’re looking to raise $5000. A local business has offered to match the first $1000 of donations. by @tay.69

This Friday January 5th we celebrate Mego’s birthday. Memorializing Mego still seems completely unreal. Making a home with them changed me forever. Mego kept me safe. Mego encouraged softness and tenderness in me that I kept locked away. Mego opened me up and reminded me of the limitless possibilities of love, intimacy, friendship & family. Mego reaffirmed that I could be uninhibited in all of my emotions, but especially in joy and in playful rebellion. I am so eternally grateful for every moment we ever spent making up stupid ass songs, every time we ever cackled so hard we could not catch our breath, the times we got to spend communing in nature together, all of our time spent huddle and snuggled under blankets in our little troll hole with our loved ones & the pups, our moments of extreme vulnerability even when it was ugly and painful. It’s been 79 days since their passing and the pain of loosing them still takes my breath away, but I am comforted over and over again knowing how much love exists in this world for them. Being in love with your friends is truly a sacred ass gift. I’ll love Mego forever. by @tay.69

Last night I lost one of the most important people in my life. My grandmother was a fierce and hilarious woman, who’s life was dedicated to the liberation of all oppressed people. She lived a very big life, and I am so so grateful that she was a huge part of my upbringing, I really wouldn’t be who I am if it had not been for her. She laid the foundations of my radicalization and always encouraged all of my creativity, she made me feel loved and important. The last time we spoke was on Christmas morning, and she kept telling me to keep living my life and to cherish it. I love her deeply, I’m sure if I’ve ever talked to you about her I’ve probably just talked at length about her many achievements and her beautiful life. I am so heartbroken by this but I am very comforted in knowing that she is home with our ancestors and that she is at peace. Rest in absolute power and peace Dr. Glenda Simms♥️ by @tay.69
