papa, you had such an impact in my life. you’ve taught me so many life lessons including how to authentically be myself and how to not care what others thought. you were a great role model when it came to paying it forward. you would tease and say crazy things we now call papaisms. when any of us got hurt or weren’t feeling well you always would say your very helpful line, “i once saw a man’s head cut off and he never said a word.” thank you for the 58 years you spent lovingly devoted to nani and the both of you for providing me with the most supportive family i am so grateful to have. i hold onto hundreds of memories like the time you walked into my 5th grade classroom to surprise me, making thirty cannolis for your 80th birthday, ride alongs in your hot rods listening to dean martin, morning doughnut trips and many small but meaningful memories in between. you always had this proud grin on your face when i would update you about what was going on with me and gave me a kiss on the cheek every time you saw me. i am grateful for the 18 years i got to experience with you on this earth and i am happy you got to see me graduate high school as you made your way to heaven. ill make sure to save you a seat next to nani at my wedding one day. i love you. by @tay.murkey
