I was proposed to on a rock 1 month before our wedding. We picked the date, booked the venue, sent out the invites, bought the outfits and everything before he proposed haha.

And just like that, she’s in second grade. Pray for us this school year. Teaching 2 with a new born is a little daunting but also, the beauty of homeschool is going at our own pace and changing that pace when it needs it. by @tayadactyl

So proud of her and all the progress she made in her first grade year. We went from full-time homeschool to hybrid homeschooling and she thrived. Balanced her schedule with grace even though it was busier than she’s used to. She continued soccer and hula, started choir, participated in a few musicals and progressed so much in reading. We are so excited for her to fall in love with more things and look forward to not only watching her learn, but actively participating in teaching her. We love you Ace!
Also, Koa’s facial expressions are getting better and better every day. by @tayadactyl

Welcome to the world little Nessie Nelson. Born August 1 at 11:21pm.
One week ago today she came into this earth her own way and every day since then has been a fever dream. We are so in love with this little girl and cannot wait to see what adventures she brings.
Shout out to @chazzer6 who decorated my baby bump with beautiful artwork the night before Ness came to meet us. Every step of this journey has been beautifully chaotic, wonderfully messy and has forced us to expand beyond what we thought possible.
The most special and never ending thank you to @babys.breathmaternity who held us, physically and emotionally during this birth and who still continues to hold space for us and support us in a way we didn’t know possible. The universe helped us find our doula, Celeste, at the exact moment we needed her. She has shown us the type of support and love and encouragement we can’t even fathom. If you are considering a doula, do it. And if you want the best one ever, choose @babys.breathmaternity 💖
We are still processing the wirldwind that this past week has been and will post more about her birth later on. For now, we will soak up all the cuddles we can get with our new little babe. by @tayadactyl

One week can change everything
And in one week everything will change
Life will grow and swell
New rhythms and flows will begin as old ones close
This pregnancy has been a whirlwind
Each one has been unique but this one went by so fast and felt so different
We are excited to meet our little mermaid earth-side soon
while simultaneously trying to soak up every last moment as a family of 4
I remember how old and big my daughter felt while I held her after birthing my son
I know now what to anticipate but also know it’ll break me a little to hold my son and truly notice his growth after I have this little one
So many things to release and accept
So many things to be grateful for
It’s bittersweet to watch your children grow and change
but knowing that they get the chance to grow up and live and contribute to this world AND to be able to be a part of that journey, as their mother, is the most sacred/natural thing I have ever been a part of

The biggest struggle has been juggling the dualities of life. Trying to live in or find the happiness and joy of this world while I witness the suffering of so many children, mothers and families around me has been unexplainable.
The privilege that I have to be able to create and grow life, in comfort and safety, knowing I have shelter, food, medical care, freedom, etc… that privilege is not lost on me. And has been a burden to carry. It’s a burden I will continue to carry because with that privilege is my voice, my vote, my choices and daily decisions. Decisions that impact souls across the planet. Where we choose to spend money, how we choose to contribute, how we show up in our lives, impacts everything around us.
We are symbiotic creatures masking as individuals.
But the truth is we all need each other.
At a time when it seems that so many souls have lost their humanity or ability to care about the human race as a whole, I feel the most grounded and sure of what my role is in this life.
All people matter. All life matters. We must do better and individually need to step up in our own lives and communities to do better.
We are alive, let’s not waste it.

Happy birthday to the most amazing human I have ever met. He is kind, adventurous, talented, patient, hilarious, intellectual, deep, fearless, respectful, helpful, SO RIDICULOUSLY GOOD LOOKING, creative, athletic, resourceful, cuddly, the BEST father to our little babes, the most patient husband to this wildflower lady and best of all, I get the privilege of being his partner in crime for life.

I couldn’t pick just one of my favorite pictures of him, so I posted a lot of them. Not nearly enough if you ask me.

This year has been such a strange year. It felt “off” in so many ways, for so many reasons. So many intense things happening around the world, all the while our day to day still had to function and flow.
Children are the true joy of this Earth and our little loves brought so much peace and big love to us every day. We wish so much for peace and safety for all children, but know that is a long term goal that will be accomplished over time with LOTS of effort from us all.
And what I can do in my day to day is teach these beautiful souls right from wrong, service over selfishness and compassion over convenience.
This next year I hope you all find joy in the small things, like Acelee and that you smile until your face hurts, like Koa. by @tayadactyl

The great Labor Day bow hunt! This year’s hunt was full of long hikes, quiet stalks, playing with trucks, practicing our shots, and hanging with good humans. Every year since Chaz was born, he has been going to Dutton to hunt with his family. Being a part of this legacy, teaching my children to hunt, gather and appreciate nature, has been one of our most fulfilling traditions. This year Ace was right in the action with Chaz. After he shot his elk, she hiked in, helped him skin and quarter it and didn’t complain at all. Koa was practicing his stalking skills and elk calls and I got crazy good taking out cans on my Red Ryder. It’s always a magical time on Dutton with family and friends. So grateful our freezer will be full and our memories richer. by @tayadactyl
