About 20 years ago I had the honor of meeting our forever First Lady @michelleobama with my aunt @stellathepoet1 and family at an event in LA. That day on the campaign tour she was doing what she effortlessly does and charmed everyone with her beauty and grace saying hi to everyone with that immaculate smile! Her detail was ensuring she moved along with a good pace but when she got to me she stopped and told her person to hold on because “I need to talk to our future right now”. She told me I was beautiful and after asking how old I was told me to embrace all of my height just as she told her daughters. I haven’t seen this picture since it was developed but when my aunt shared it it brought me back to the pure joy and happiness of seeing and hearing this incredible woman tell me to be who I am unapologetically. It feels too right to share this during Juneteenth weekend and Pride month as I’m reminded to always stay true to myself ✊🏾🌈 by @tayholeman
