OUR RY’BOY💙

I will always have a place in my heart for my baby dog.

I haven’t brought myself to draw him since his passing… but i just looked back on these journal illustrations I made last year. Our happy, cozy boy. We had such good times together!

Our Ryder 💙
Ry… our Ry-bread.

After almost 15 years together, we’ll miss you more than words can say. Ry brought so much joy, laughter, and endless cuddles.

From the time I was 13, he was right there. Moving to a new town with my mom and me, late study nights with me through high-school and college, meeting Jamal (my sweet love and Ry’s very best friend) when he was only five. He was with us on road trips, through moves, getting engaged, getting married, and settling into our first home.

We’ve had so much fun. And I say OUR Ryder b/c he was loved by SO many: first by my mom and I (thank you forever, Ma; he’s the best surprise I’ve ever had), by Priya auntie, by Jamal and I, and by grandmas, aunties, uncles, and friends. We’ll forever be grateful for every cuddle, every playtime & walk time, every bit of love we shared.

Status: Being Washed.

Thinking about how God washes us-thoroughly, yet gently. With care and love.

Ever had to bathe someone who couldn’t do it themselves? Or been bathed that way? Not a quick wipe down... but a real, intentional scrub.

It’s not always a pretty or glamorous process. But it is necessary.

Being introverted by nature,
And still deeply valuing community.

We were created for connection—
to share life, not just survive it.

Laughing with people.
Being stretched by people.
Being inconvenienced by people.

There’s beauty in the mundane:
small talk, shared meals,
sharing spaces.

Laughing together.
Being stretched together.
Even being inconvenienced together.

Good communities are built—
by good people, strong families, and deep relationships.

God made us to crave intimacy, not isolation.

Independence is fine—
but connection matters, too.

We were made to belong.

BE the person you want to be WITH.

Marriage has been such a gift. & I really wish I would’ve waited more intentionally for my husband.

How?

By continuing to nurture my own soil well.

If I could go back in time and tell younger Tay one thing, it would be, “fall in love with Jesus, living life, and becoming your best self FIRST.” The falling in love with the right one will come.
