Piper’s MRI results from yesterday:

ACL complete tear
Tear in lateral outer meniscus where it anchors to the bone
Mild MCL sprain
Bone bruise

9-12 month recovery.

She’s at school hasn’t gotten the news yet… I’m trying to figure out how dad and the surgeon can break it to her gently.

1 week ago Piper started on defense for the high school varsity flag football team and in the first game of the season she collided with the blocker as she was rushing the QB and heard “pop, pop, pop” from her knee. She fell to the ground and has been on crutches since. Her x-rays came back clean. Her entire left knee and ankle have been super swollen. She has an MRI first thing in the AM. She would love any positive thoughts & prayers sent her way. She loves flag as much as she loves art (that’s saying A LOT). Her heart is broken that her first year on varsity Flag has ended before it even started.

Throw back to when she broke her arm 14 years ago 🗓⏳👣 #piperjan by @taylor.manor

Day 3 -Versaille and Paris continued.
•The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Paris temple but located in Versaille.
-baptisms for the dead.
-temple president shared a quick testimony entirely in French about the 12 oxen
-small but beautiful grounds.
•quick stop to Brandy Melville-Paris
•dinner at La Commanderie
- my risotto was amazing, but the chicken was just okay.
- Keira liked the flavor of her (white)pasta but it was al dente.
-Ryan’s (red)pasta was al dente and wished it had a big ball of ricotta or mozzarella
Crème brûlée and tiramisu were delicious.
• tour de Eiffel Tower!
•Mine and Ryan’s phones were both low on battery so pics are with Kiki. by @taylor.manor

Keira is melting and slowly roasting to death in London 3rd and final day. 🌞
•did I mention it is hot and humid? Did I leave out that it is record breaking? Or how about London doesn’t have Air Conditioning in the majority of, well, the entire city? Delays in travel due to the heat. Buses for sure have no AC. A couple of the many train rides have had it. Thankfully our hotel room has it so we are able to sleep easy.
• morning started off with London Tower (Crown Jewels and fantastic views of Tower Bridge)
• made our way to Notting Hill and Portobello Road
• ate at Canteen. Another YouTube recommendation and everything was amazing (Italian)
•biked to the top of Portobello Road and walked our way back down to the train while window shopping.
• Notting Hill bookshop, photo op, cinnamon roll & lemon bread, açaí bowl where I also got Guarana (IYKYK)
•British Museum- found the Rosetta Stone and the world’s most famous chess set.
•dinner at Bread Street Kitchen & Bar (Gordon Ramsey) everything was once again delicious.
•ABBA Voyage 🎉🪩 -singing and dancing alongside Keira (and Ry) will forever be one of my favorite memories. (Yesssssssssss to AC!) taken in ABBA Voyage by @taylor.manor

Girls trip! I visited Catalina island for the first time and had the best tour guide and ate a really good hamburger and fries. I highly recommend renting a golf cart and exploring the island that way. We also visited Ensenada where I have been craving fish tacos since my first visit there in 2019. I got to try frog legs for the first time (I’ll stick with eating chicken) these ladies have been some of my closest friends going on 19 years this summer. We raised our babies together and will all admit we would not have survived all of the babies without one an others help. Blessed to be friends with the best of the best. 😘 by @taylor.manor

#maiziekaye battled with her vault & beam scores all season long. This weekend Maizie conquered both with getting scores high enough to not only to compete for a spot on the podium but won and is the level 7 Western Regional (Oregon, NorCal, SoCal, Nevada and Arizona) All Around Champion🏆!!!
At States she fell off the beam for the first time in 2.5 years. The mental block, demons and frustrations she fought these last three weeks went out the door the moment she stepped on the mat. I’m so happy for her hard work both physically and mentally to pay off.
