TW : Miscarriage + pregnancy loss

October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. This month, and every month, Trace and I are keeping close to our hearts the little life we carried, loved, and lost.

Miscarriage is a strange kind of loss no one talks about or prepares you for. The world keeps moving while yours completely stops. In our case it included Trace being told 4 days after our loss he was set to deploy and deploying 7 days later. Navigating the loss of a child and the deployment of your husband in such a short time is a haze I couldn’t begin to explain.

It has been one of the hardest things I have ever experienced, both physically and emotionally. There is a grief that comes with miscarriage that is difficult to put into words - the what ifs, the unanswered questions, the loneliness, and the feeling of having to keep moving when a part of you feels completely broken.

To the 1 in 4 women who have experienced this, I am so sorry. I am so proud of every woman who has walked through this pain and grief, often carrying it quietly. I never thought I’d be part of this statistic, but experiencing this has changed the way I see grief, womanhood, and the strength it takes to keep going. Women are so resilient.

And to our little one, you were loved from the moment we knew you existed. Even thought we only got to carry you for a little while you changed us forever. You’ll be in our hearts from this day on until forever. Until we meet again our sweet angel 🤍👼🏼🫶🏼 by @taylorcarello
