A dream come true kind of night ✨ Before my 2nd look, I told my 6 lifers to meet me at the garage (where we snuck out of countless nights in highschool) to have one last moment to ourselves in the room I grew up in, and the one we got ready in almost every Friday night. a special moment I’ll cherish forever.

The Renewal 🖤

While one year married doesn’t normally call for a vow renewal, we felt we earned it.

A few months after eloping, we decided New York was where we wanted to be together. We packed up our Atlanta home over Christmas break and Danny made the permanent move here with our Doobie cat in tow.

Once settled I dove into wedding planning keeping the promise to us that we would have our celebration - one worthy of a decade together.

That summer after my Bach weekend, Brittany had her accident. That very morning we were on the phone and I was crying about the stress, not being happy with my dress, and bitching about a lot of things that didn’t matter. Looking back now thinking that could have been my last conversation with her, I felt guilty that I had lost sight of why we were doing this all in the first place.

That week we canceled the wedding. We sent out the notice, we notified our vendors, and we focused on her recovery without hesitation.

The 8 weeks that followed were nothing short of a miracle. Proving she IS that girl … always has been, her unprecedented recovery led to her getting approved for her cranioplasty a few weeks before the wedding, months earlier than we were told was even possible.

Once she was progressing after surgery in the best way we could have prayed for, Britt and Jake, along with our whole family, wrapped Danny and I with love and support and encouraged us to consider putting the reception back on.

Being just a few weeks out from our date, it honestly felt like a burden on everyone to try and pull it off but not surprisingly, within a few days, everyone we love and cherish dropped everything and came together to make our weekend the dream that it was.

While Britt was worried she would take away attention of the day, everyone else knew that the only reason I wanted to be there was because she was there to. We finally had a reason to celebrate.

Lead by my brother-in-law Jake (& Brittany’s husband) - We shared our love and appreciation for our rock solid family, and renewed our commitment for this life and the next.
