Alex Taylor, SAFD Certified Teacher There is so much to say, but I don’t know what to say. Thank you to my cohort (Bess Kaye, Stephen Louis, Kate Lass, Andrew Rathgeber, Tommy Wedge, Ian Bond, Will Snyder) thank you to our teachers (Nigel Poulton, Amie Root, D Granke) thank you to everyone who believed in me and helped me get here. There is always more to learn and more to do, but today I am just happy and proud. See you in Rapier & Dagger class in September :) ⚔️ Last shot stays an @adifawk masterpiece by @taylorrosealex

I think it’s finally sinking in that I’m going to the 2026 SAFD Teacher Certification Workshop. I’m excited, I’m overwhelmed, and mostly I’m grateful. If you ever hired me to TA for you, or asked me to fight direct, or partnered me in an SPT or a renewal, or wrote me a letter of recommendation, or spoke highly of me in a room I wasn’t in, or believed in me in any way shape or form, you played a huge part in this, and I hope to make you all proud. There are MANY exceptional instructors who could have this spot, and I’m honored that this time it’s me. My special thanks to @lexiorphanos, @alexbkass, @samanthaellarose, @maddy.lyn.snideman, @colettebn, and @sarahforrdd for going on camera with me for my application, and my biggest and loudest thanks to @fightinmike for making space for me long before I would’ve ever thought I was ready. Thank you. by @taylorrosealex
