Dear dad,
On September 23rd, you were taken from me. Never in a million years did I think I would live in a world without you by my side. I know we always said “everything happens for a reason” but I can’t seem to find a reason for my world being crushed into pieces. This wasn’t supposed to be the end of our story, but life’s not fair. The world’s not fair. You were the kindest, most loving, selfless, and strongest person I’ve ever met. Every day, you inspired me to keep going. For 5 years, I watched you battle and suffer a deadly cancer everyday, and still, you found a way to put everyone else before yourself. I know you weren’t ready and you didn’t deserve this. I’ll never forget your smell, your contagious laugh and smile, your voice, the way you lit up any room you walked into, The way you pushed me to be the absolute best person I could be. But most importantly I’ll miss my bestfriend. My rock. My partner in crime. My reason for existence. I know your not in pain anymore, and you are finally reunited with grandma and grandpa, but the selfishness in me begs for at least one more talk, one more hug, one more ride in the car blasting all your favorite songs while screaming them at the top of our lungs. One last soccer game hearing you yell my name from the sidelines and seeing your huge smile cheering me on. I don’t know how to function without you. Nothings the same anymore. You should be here with me. I hope you truly know how much I love you and how much the world did. You changed people’s lives. I pray you found peace. That’s all you ever wanted. I’m not ready to let go and I don’t think I ever will be. I love you until my last breaths dad. Until we meet again.
