A Memory in May

Nakhon Ratchasima – Pratu Chumphon

When I first visited in 2005, my friend told me a local myth: if you walk through the gate, you'll return someday.

True enough, I came back in Mar 2006 to attend my friends' high school graduation. After that visit, I thought I might never return again.

Sometimes, life feels like a wheel turning silently in the background, bringing people back to places they thought they hv already left behind.

11 yrs later, life quietly brought me back once more for my friend's wedding in May 2017.
Before leaving, I walked through the gate for a second time, hoping that one day I would return again—for a good reason, or for good.

Korat may not be the kind of place that appears on people's bucket lists. It may not have many tourist attractions or flashy things to do. That was never what mattered to me. What makes Korat special are my friends and the memories we made.

Some places stay with you not because of what they can offer, but because of the people who were there and the moments we shared together.

They may seem like ordinary moments, but they remain deepest in my heart.

My friends- Thank you for the fried egg, spicy fish soup+rice, moo ping+glutinous rice, pizza, mookata. I enjoy the bus rides and sorry to break your shower tap on day1 😬

Mei Mei - I think she is the only cat at home who knows the purpose of pillow 😂

She was found by a dog feeder in a forested area. Back then she screamed at any cat that walked past her front, left or right.

Has she changed?? Yes and no, just become more selective which cat deserves the drama 📢

There are times she would get slapped by other cats before her drama starts 😹😹😹

Duke was having severe diarrhea and accidents all over the living room 💩🫠
Luckily, I remembered I had a sample sachet of Innoshealth probiotics at home. Mixed it into his food… and the results were almost immediate.
Less frequent pooping, and by the next day — his stool was forming again🥹🥹
He got so much better after a few days!

My Gentle Boy – Radish
(October 21, 2025)

He was admitted a few days before I left for my short getaway. His appetite has been on and off, and I’ve been struggling with the decision of whether to hospitalize him. Radish has always disliked being caged and is very sensitive to needles.

I know that being on IV fluids can help bring his kidney values down, but the same problem might return if he resists subcutaneous fluids at home. As his owner, it’s so difficult to hold back and do only the minimum. Yet, I also know there will come a time when I have to accept that it’s time to stop.
