POSTS STORIES REELS

I don’t post enough about these people.

Every one of them started somewhere they didn’t think they could. First weights. First runs. First races. The weeks they didn’t feel like it and showed up anyway.

Take Tali. That’s her at the finish line of her first race. One of the toughest women out there, and anything but a smooth, injury-free ride to her first HYROX in Rotterdam. Look at her now.

I don’t do the work. I just help it make sense. They do the rest.

Swipe ➡ this is who Made By Taylor actually is.

This is Noel. My longest standing client at David Lloyd.

Over eight years training together in this club. Eight years of showing up, putting in the work, and a fair bit of laughing in between.

Those biceps didn’t build themselves, and neither did the friendship. The conversation is as good as the training, and honestly that hour is one of my favourite parts of my week.

Eight years and counting. Love him to bits.

Carleen, Tali and Lindsay.

Three who spend half their lives together in here. Blaze, HYROX, whatever’s on, they show up and they put the work in. More than that, they push each other to the max every single session.

Hard workers. Always there. Determined to be a bit better than they were last week.

More HYROX races later this year and plenty of running between now and then. Excited to help them on the way to fitter, stronger, and a fair bit faster.

Soy. One of my favourite humans to spend time with.

Watch the video and you’ll get it. The man’s a born performer, and he brings that same energy to every single session. Drama, effort, comedy, the lot.

Some of the best sessions and best laughs of my week happen with this one. He also keeps me on my toes with my Dutch, which I’m slowly getting there with.

Soy, ik moet echt meer Nederlands praten. 😅

Emilyyyyyy. My HYROX mixed doubles partner.

Fresh onto the Made By Taylor program and ready to see what we can really do. Later this year we get back across that line together and find out what we’re made of.

So how does sub-60 sound, Emily? 👀

Let’s go and get it.

Daan. One of the greats, in the gym and well beyond it.

An absolute ray of sunshine. I’ve watched him get stronger and stronger over by @taytaymccormack

Six months. Three to four sessions a week. That’s what it takes to go from zero to a strong first HYROX.

The order matters more than the exercises: base first, stations second, race practice last. Most people do it backwards, they start with the sexy stuff and stall at month three.

Random training, random results.

Full framework in the slides. Save it for later.

And if you want it built around your life instead of a template, send me “HYROX” and we’ll talk. by @taytaymccormack

One of the things I love most about run clubs has very little to do with running.

I’ve been living in Amsterdam for over 8 years now, and during that time I’ve been lucky enough to meet some incredible people. Working in fitness, I get to meet new faces every single day, which is something I genuinely love.

But there’s something different about the conversations that happen out on a run.

When you’re moving side by side, the chat feels easy. You end up talking about work, life, training, travel, goals… sometimes with someone you’ve only just met. Some of my favourite friendships have been strengthened through running, and it’s also been one of the best ways to meet completely new people.

Running has given me both: quality time with people I care about, and the chance to build new connections I never would have made otherwise.

So if you’re new to the city, new to running, or just tired of doing every run on your own, get along to a run club. There is some amazing ones in town, @mob.movement @herhybridclub @midnightrunnersamsterdam @davidlloydamsterdam @dwellinmotion @bambas_sportsclub to name a few!

The kilometres are just the excuse. The people are the reason you’ll keep coming back. 🏃🏼‍♂️🤝 by @taytaymccormack

Used to live at 174bpm…

This period has been a different tempo. Slower, harder, more honest. Still moving. by @taytaymccormack

Been quiet on here. Plenty going on in the background.

In the meantime, Greece. Eleven days, one beautiful boat, a lot of water, a few people I love. These make me happy every time I look at them, and that’s reason enough to post them.

“How was the trip?”
“Ten out of ten.”

Dad flew halfway round the world from Perth for ten days. He filmed my HYROX race, turned 55 (“just the number, mate”), went to his first Ajax game, rode along the Amstel and ate his body weight in ice cream, stroopwafels and pepernoten. He got to know my beautiful partner Sele, and set the bar when it comes to a bouquet of flowers.

But ask him what he loved most and it’s the quiet days. Me and him, just sitting. A cold beer and some proper catching up.

Hard to go. Exciting to come back.

Ten out of ten, Dad. All day, every day. 🇳🇿🇳🇱 by @taytaymccormack

The summer, in one place.

Twelve days sailing Greece with Selena and my best friends, where I checked the time exactly never. Our favourite festival Boomtown nearly straight after, because balance goes both ways.

And now the serious bit. HYROX Men’s PRO, September 18th. Just under four weeks away. First week back done and I’m happy with it. Nothing heroic, just solid sessions again.

A full life, built on purpose. That’s always been the aim. by @taytaymccormack

My dad is my dad. And I am so proud of him.

His attitude. His laugh. Who he is with me. He made me who I am today. He’s made some mistakes in his life, that’s for sure, but what a man.

He’s been my role model since I was a baby, stretching and drop kicking a rugby ball as a 3 year old. Dad came to every training and every football game I played after high school.

Then I left NZ. In the 10 years since, I’ve seen him four times. Australia in 2017. My wedding in 2020. Perth just under two years ago. And this trip.

Everything I’ve missed since leaving, I got back today. He came to watch my HYROX.

Fuck it was cool.

This finish is everything to me. My dad has been my life role model, and today he was there for me.

I think I’ve sweated out every drop of liquid in my body, or I’d be crying right now.

Thanks for making the effort to be here Dad.

I love you. by @taytaymccormack

Carleen races HYROX Doubles in Maastricht next weekend.

Eighteen weeks we have been training. 94 workouts programmed. 74 done. Twenty missed, and every one of them had a reason: Spain, a UK trip with no gym, one week where Thursday’s class wrecked her for Friday, kids off school.

Nobody’s block is all green. The people who get to the start line are the ones who miss a session and do the next one anyway.

Go smash it Carleen and Lindsay. by @taytaymccormack

Every time we go back to Mallorca, the word gets harder to ignore.

HOME.

It started as where Sele’s from. Now it’s somewhere I miss when we leave.

Run in the morning. Good family time that runs for hours. Sea in the afternoon. Repeat.

To be fair, after leaving New Zealand, home stopped being just one place a long time ago. But maybe home isn’t always where you’re from. Sometimes it’s just where you feel most like yourself. by @taytaymccormack

Five days to Maastricht.

Pro Men Singles. Dad flies in Wednesday. Big week to be Taylor McCormack.

Bring it on. by @taytaymccormack

Eight days on a boat with these legends.

Corfu to Zakynthos. The sea, the jumps, the ice cold beers, the naps on the top deck, a new location every morning, the white party, the laughs that didn’t stop.

Nobody wanted to get off.

@gosailadventures, thank you for the boat and the crew.

Everyone else, you know who you are, thankyou. by @taytaymccormack
