1) Working with The Broken Binding and Joe Wilson was an absolute dream.

They involved me from start to finish, actually listened, and most importantly, they didn’t let my amateur feedback negatively affect the outcome.

2) TBBP (the wonderful Amy Portsmouth) asked me for a vibe doc/wishlist and suggested I include covers and artists I liked.

This was my first entry. The very next day, they hired Joe.

3) From this first sketch, I knew we made the right choice. Joe Wilson is a genius, folks.

4) Shading/line work

5) First color with the old title still as a placeholder. The blue and red was actually really nice! But needed some flair.

6) Flair!

7) And a slight color change to better reflect the tone of the book.

I suggested this change, and I won’t lie. I was very concerned that I had fucked up Joe’s incredible art.

8) Nope! Turns out Joe and Eon (TBBP’s wonderful art director for IRE) know their shit!

Look at it! That’s an awesome cover. I couldn’t be happier about it.

So, so many thanks to Joe and TBBP. by @tbbpublishing

Hey friends and welcome back to part 2 of Paintin' Talk with Ryan Cahill! 🎨
Paintin' talk is a series where I sit down and chat with incredible authors whilst we handpaint their books 📚

I hope you all enjoy part 2 just as much as part 1, I'm still obsessed with Ryan's 10,000 review toaster analogy, and his artwork was honestly both brilliant and whilst also the bottom section being nothing I ever predicted 🤭

To be in with a chance to win this one of a kind Ryan-handpainted (as well as signed and dated) copy of Of Blood and Fire by Ryan Cahill please do the following:

1. Follow @peggyspages
2. Follow @ryancahillauthor
3. Follow @tbbpublishing
(I will be checking!)
4. Drop a comment below! This can be anything; tagging a friend, letting us know your favourite thing Ryan had to say - or how unsurprised you are at what Ryan chose to paint 😂🩵

Thanks again so much Ryan for coming on the show and to Broken Binding for having me. And a huge thanks to each and every one of you taking the time to watch and comment! Let me know which other authors you'd love to see on the show in future - I have some really exciting episodes filmed so keep your eyes peeled 👀

Author: Ryan Cahill
Editor: @islamctear
Special thanks: The Broken Binding Publishing for having me along to film with Ryan at their booth!
Filmed at: @mcmcomiccon
Series created by: Xina at Peggyspages

*Competition ends 23:59 BST on the 13th October, international entries welcome. The winner will only be contacted by this account - @peggyspages - and no others, peggyspages (aka me, Xina) is solely responsible for shipping out the prize, not Ryan or Broken Binding so please don't bother them about it thank you 🩷 18+ entries only due to Ryan's decision to draw something questionable on the bottom of the book 😂* by @tbbpublishing

Hey friends and welcome to Paintin' Talk!! 🎨 A series where I sit down and chat with incredible authors whilst we handpaint their books 📚

I've been wanting to start this podcast styled painting series for far too long.. so I'm thrilled to be launching it with my first episode featuring bestselling indie + trad Fantasy author @ryancahillauthor !
I had such a lovely time chatting with Ryan at MCM courtesy of the wonderful humans at Broken Binding (thanks guys!) and discussing all things The Bound and The Broken, indie VS trad publishing and so much more 🥰
Thank you Ryan for coming to chat with me while putting your old book edge painting skills to the test!

Part 2 will come out at 5pm tomorrow (Tuesday) and contain Ryan's final results of his beautiful artwork and all the details on how to win it for your shelf 🤩

Thanks for taking the time to watch, let me know which other authors you'd love to see on the show in future - I have some really exciting episodes filmed so keep your eyes peeled 👀
