I promise to teach my boys that respecting women is not optional, conditional, or dependent on who is watching.

I promise to teach them that consent matters. That boundaries matter. That no person’s body, attention, or affection is something they are ever entitled to.

I promise to raise them knowing that being a good man isn’t just about refusing to participate in something wrong. It’s about being brave enough to be the man in the room who says, “This isn’t okay,” even when no one else does.

I promise to teach them that fitting in with the guys will never be more important than another person’s dignity, safety, or well being.

I promise to raise them like their daddy, a man who respects women, stands beside them, and goes into the courtroom every day to fight for people navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives. I pray they grow up watching his example and understand that real strength is using your voice and your position to stand up for others.

I promise to create a home where we have the uncomfortable conversations. Where accountability is expected. Where kindness isn’t weakness. Where character matters more than popularity. And where doing the right thing matters even when nobody is watching. by @tbe_lawyer

To think there was once a time when I would hold your tiny feeding tubes up, little by little, making sure every drop made its way through your noses and into your little bellies… and now I get to stand back and watch you run, laugh, play, grow, and take on the world.

Duke & Jordan, you continue to amaze me in every single aspect of life. From the very beginning, you have shown me what strength, resilience, and determination look like. My little NICU warriors then, and my strong, incredible boys now. 🤍

I’m so incredibly blessed to have Kelly capture these moments and every season of our lives, the big milestones and all the little moments in between. These photos mean more to me than I could ever put into words.

Those days and nights in the NICU were some of the longest days of my life.

For 21 and 22 days, we watched our tiny sons hooked up to wires and machines. We learned what every beep meant, celebrated every ounce gained, and counted down the days until we could finally bring both of our babies home. There were so many tears, so many prayers, and so many moments where all we could do was sit beside them and trust that they were exactly where they needed to be.

And now, those two tiny NICU babies are three years old. 🥹💙💙

Every year, our little warriors walk in honor of the babies and families who are still in those NICU rooms, especially the families whose journeys are much longer than our 21 and 22 days.

We will never forget how it felt to leave the hospital without our babies. We will never forget the nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers who cared for Duke and Jordan when we couldn’t do it all ourselves. They worked tirelessly to give our boys the very best chance, and because of them, we get to watch our two amazing miracles grow, laugh, play, and take on the world.

The NICU will forever be a part of our story. It gave us some of our hardest days, but it also showed us just how strong our boys were from the very beginning.

Once a NICU warrior, always a NICU warrior. 💙

Happy birthday to my boys who made me a mother. Duke Edward and Jordan Thomas, you make me so proud every single day. Your wonder through your eyes, your intelligence, your laughter, and your determination leave me truly in awe of you every day.

I love you more than words could ever describe, and Daddy and I are so incredibly proud of the boys you are growing into. Thank you for being the light through the darkness and for always somehow finding a way to make me laugh no matter what.

It’s been a week ago today that my mother in law joined our angels in heaven.

Brenda Whitehead was someone who left a mark on your life in a way that words never quite feel big enough to explain. She loved deeply, cared endlessly, and showed up for the people around her in a way that made you feel safe, supported, and truly seen.

The last 16 months of our lives were not easy. They were heavy, emotional, and at times overwhelming. But they were also filled with something I will forever be grateful for… time. Time to slow down. Time to be present. Time to care for her, love her, and be there in the moments that mattered most.

Watching my husband care for his mom during this season is something I will never forget. The patience, the strength, the unwavering love our boys got to witness what it truly means to show up for your family. That kind of love doesn’t just exist, it’s taught… and she is the reason he carries it.

She raised an incredible man, and because of her, that love and those values will continue on through him and through our children.

This kind of loss is hard to put into words. The grief comes in waves…sometimes all at once, sometimes quietly but it’s always there. And yet, alongside that grief is so much gratitude. Gratitude for the extra time we were given. Gratitude for the memories we were able to create. Gratitude for her.

We will miss her more than words can say, but we will carry her with us in everything we do 🤍 by @tbe_lawyer
