Shopping pieces on a whim, especially at the start of any wardrobe elevation proceds, will only lead to having a ton of clothes and accessories without solving the "I have nothing to wear" syndrome.

Shopping unplanned quality pieces won't necessarily help either.
My advice:

- Sort out your basics first
- Invest in versatile pieces
- Splurge on quality items (think price per wear)
- then you can add on statement pieces, occasional wear & other fashion favourites.

"Style" is generally a touchy subject for men for many reasons, including not wanting to being seen as superficial or trendy; or not wanting to make a mistake about fashion choices.

However, it is impossible to build executive presence without style, and more particularly, having a personal style.

The corporate space is less forgiving and understanding about your appearance. You're judged before you even get a chance to defend your expertise.

Paying attention to your outfits, groom, and appearance in general is not you being vain.
Never forget that your wardrobe is a tool for social and career growth. Take it seriously!

Many times, professional growth comes with changes in the places you go, the people you meet, who sees you and where.
These changes are inevitable, and so, it is important that your wardrobe is reassessed from time to time to ensure you're projecting the right image.

Stepped out of my hiatus for my amazing client as she brought her vision to life.

This is what dreams are made of!
From Las Vegas, USA to Lagos, Nigeria!

From the first email to sitting across continents on a lovely Thursday in September 2025 to discuss setting up & launching her own personal shopping business to early March 2026 when she reached out again to discuss the idea of a physical luxury shopping experience here in Lagos, Nigeria, it's been nothing short of amazing interacting and brainstorming with Dr. J.

Today, she stood tall as she launched her very first "sip and shop" event and I couldn't be prouder.
Congratulations dear Dr. J @luxurywithdrj . You did it, and you should be so proud of what you're accomplishing. 👏🏽👏🏽🎉🎉

It was great meeting in person. We must have hugged like 6 times. 😅
Honestly, my heart is so full. This is why I do what I do on the personal shopping side of my business - lighting the path for (aspiring) personal shoppers to thrive because truly, the sky is big enough for all of us.🥰

LDJ "Sip and Shop" event spans all weekend (10th to 12th April 2026) and as the name implies, you get to sip on delicious drinks, look around and shop clothes, shoes, bags, belts, and other accessories from a carefully curated selection of authentic luxury and high street brands.

Some of the brands I noticed today include Karl Largerfeld, Ferragamo, Vince Camuto, Badgley Mischka, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Armani, Kate Spade. There are lots more I can't remember from the top of my head right now. So get ready to be spoilt for choice.

This is not the usual personal shopping experience as you know it, where you pre-order and wait for items to be shipped it. Items are on ground for you to shop immediately.
The best part is the pieces on ground are unique and there are fashion items for both ladies and gentlemen.
