it’s National truth and reconciliation day so just a reminder that residential schools were a deliberate attempt to commit genocide (cultural & regular) to Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island SPECIFICALLY targeting children by the Canadian Government.

If you live in Canada it’s your responsibility to uphold the truth, honour & listen to the stories of survivors and their families

Call out racism & denialism in spaces you’re in not just today but every. single. day.

In the third slide- I’ve attached one of MANY of the reports of survivors first hand accounts of their experiences within residential schooling. Warning it’s harrowing but if a child can experience it, you can read about it.
