What an amazing Day 1 and start to our 3rd @candelariadesign Oregon Wine and Food Tour and our 28th Tour over the last 26 years!!!
.
We made it to the beautiful @willamettewinecountry and our home for the next days @thesettinginnwillamette which we bought out so this truly is just our home!

We have 15 amazing travelers this time and we started the tour with a fabulous catered dinner brought in by @blindpig_x_renegade paired with a wide selection of local wines to accompany each course.
.
Finished the evening around the firepit enjoying 70° temps and the chance for our travelers to unwind with a magnificent Pinot in hand and get the chance to get further acquainted!
.
So excited for Day 2 where we will tour the @alexanaestate followed by a 6-course farm to table dinner and wine pairing at James Beard semifinalist @haywardrestaurant !

The dining scene here in Phoenix-Scottsdale has come such a long way! Just in the past 5 years we’ve seen a huge increase of cool concepts, thoughtful designs and innovative menus.

Here is my recap of some of the coolest spots in town when it comes to overall ambience & experience:
1. The Member’s only @therararoomphx at the Suns arena. Food & drinks are fine, the free candy & 🍿 room to take back to the 🏀 game is divine.
2. @palaphxdt has a great wood fired menu and impressive selection of 🍷 , bonus is their live jazz 🎶 upstairs!
3. Upscale steak & sushi restaurant @jing.scottsdale also located in Las Vegas, Aspen & Denver, CO. 🍣
4. Love the swanky new piano + 🍸 bar @filthymartinibar tucked inside the very impressive @cleaverman.steak downtown.
5. Best overall new restaurant & happy hour in Scottsdale goes to a place I’ve dined at probably 10 times already, @pinyon_restaurant 👏🏼
6. Caesar’s Republic new restaurant 🐺 @wolfbyvanderpumpaz is a much needed draw to the new hotel & is fun for fancy drinks.
7. @thisisdropdeadgorgeous is a bold 70s style disco 🪩 themed speakeasy hidden inside another very impressive restaurant I recommend & featured in my last recap, @thisisfilthyanimal surprisingly on Mill Ave.

Chicago was the perfect place to celebrate Father’s Day for our Dad who loves architecture, art, food & music! We ate at some killer restaurants, went to two art museums, two jazz/blues clubs, walked a LOT, won a @luxemagazine design award & and made great memories ♥️ 😎

Our guest in this month’s podcast episode of “Inspiring Living” is Nick Hogan, Co-Owner and CEO of Flagship Restaurant Group, the team behind the popular new, award-winning restaurant @pyrophx in Arcadia. In addition to Pyro, they have 16 other restaurant concepts spanning the country! This team has defied the odds of successfully creating and managing multiple restaurant concepts simultaneously and we get to hear about all the risks and luck in their journey.

Founded over 20 years ago in Omaha, NE they started with a team of four friends who are still the same group of owners today. Since, they have grown to multiple cities and states and over 40 locations and become a success here in Arizona. Just like architecture, this career is a mix of creativity and mathematics and takes a great team and leadership.

Also here in town, be sure to check out the beautifully designed @palmastateofmind @champanglanes and @ghostdonkeyphx in downtown Phoenix.

I’m months behind on posting! Part 2 of Hawaii we moved to the north shore of Maui near Lahaina for a few days & rented a Jeep to drive The Road to Hana, hiked to waterfalls, went to Eden’s Botanical Garden, ate at the famous @mamasfishhouse took a sunset whale watching cruise & indulged at a traditional Luau!! This was truly a trip of a lifetime 💖 Thanks SO much to my incredible Marriott friend @jmanligas by @tcdoesfnb

Here’s a look at some of the incredible Oaxacan artisans we met & watched work during our trip to Oaxaca, Mexico! We even participated in a “traditional” (no electricity) cooking class, rug weaving, hat shaping, candle making & more! Our @candelariadesign Tours are SO much more than a vacation, they truly #inspireliving
