This pot was made while alone in the studio blasting white girl trash music. Up next a sippie cup while listening to Red Sun in the Sky

Couple mounted figures just cause they’re fun to make. Second one is saggar fired, as opposed to pit fired, which has been a bit of a process to get figured out but starting to get better results by @tchenpot

Centerpiece bowl - Pit fired - 10”

One of the main difficulties with getting good results from pit firing is getting the colorants to stay in place during the firing. These bowls are kind of nice since they have a wide flat surface to play around with. Coffee, copper carb, and copper filings coming into play on this one.

Application of shiny.

Pit firing is a low fire technique so applying a finish serves the dual purpose of enhancing the colors as well as preserving the pieces from the effects of daily use.

Pit fired bottle with copper carb, coffee, and salts. Becoming a bit of a classic shape for me at this point, fun to make and looks nice imho.

Pit fired gourd 10” x 5”. Been having fun playing around with different bellies and different lips on these pieces. What do you think?

Pit fired double bellied vessel 11 x 6”. Quite happy with the results on this one, both from the firing and the form, and also happy to see it go to some friends for their wedding.

I’ve been taking advantage of a break after SAM to be work on some new things, excited to share!
