Is it expensive?

The honest answer is: Yes, Turks & Caicos can be an expensive destination—but you can plan your trip around your budget!
As a local, I often get asked why things cost more here. Since we import most of our food, fuel, and everyday goods, prices can be higher than what you’re used to at home.
🏨 Hotels & resorts: There are options at different price points, but luxury resorts can be very expensive, especially during peak season.
🍽️ Food: Dining out can add up quickly, especially at beachfront and upscale restaurants. A great way to save is to mix in local restaurants and casual spots.
🚗 Transportation: Renting a car can be a good option if you plan to explore the island and can sometimes be more cost-effective than taking taxis everywhere.
🌴 My local tip: You don’t have to spend a fortune to enjoy Turks & Caicos. Our beautiful beaches are free, and some of the best experiences are simply exploring the island, enjoying the ocean, and discovering local spots.
So, is Turks & Caicos expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? I’ll let you decide! 😉🇹🇨💙

Do you need a car?

If you want to explore, I definitely recommend it!
If you’re staying at a resort and plan to spend most of your time at the beach or pool, you can easily get around with taxis and resort transportation.

Is it safe?

Yes! Turks & Caicos is generally a safe destination for visitors, and thousands of travelers come to enjoy our beautiful islands every year. As with any destination, it’s always important to use common sense—keep an eye on your belongings, avoid walking alone in unfamiliar areas late at night, and stay aware of your surroundings.

What should you book in advance? I recommend booking any private transportation, chef and excursions in advance, especially during the peak season.
