As much as we want to share what we know about aeroponics, we're even more excited to hear about your interests, your experiences with plants, and your thoughts!

This page is a place where we can all have conversations about aeroponics, nutrition, plants, the environment, and so much more.

Reach out in the ways above at any time!

#cheers 🥂 (it’s mint, marjoram and catnip tea 🫖 😂) to the 5th graders finishing up the year and to finishing their gardening program!!

We wrapped everything up with a culinary unit featuring the produce that they grew!! 🌱 🪴 👨🏾‍🌾 by @tclfoundation

Our motto is building community through food. Sometimes it’s just a simple text.

Share something with a neighbor soon!🌱 by @tclfoundation

Honored to be back in the classroom, learning about where our food comes from, and how we can take part in our food systems (even as kids). Through the lessons students will hopefully be able to answer important questions like Where does my food comes from? Do I even care where my food comes from? What is food sovereignty? How can I participate?

As usual, we begin with the survey to set a baseline for our program and track the effectiveness through the length of the lessons. It’s only the beginning but stay tuned for more updates and insights from our lessons.

It may be a simple growing programs but the lessons along the way create lasting impact. Thank you to @silabaltimore for allowing us to come back! Look forward to the coming weeks! by @tclfoundation

Don’t know if you have seen, but we made some additions to our website. In alignment with our vision and values have added an additional resources page! The main updates include:

1) Dynamic community fridge map, powered by @microsoft @powerplatform Power BI. The map contains a list of the current know community fridge locations in Baltimore (based on the most recent research). In the future we how to expand on this with additional demographic data, volume/consumption metrics, along with the status and capacity of all the listed fridges. Stay tuned!

2) A place for organizations updates. Here we summarize the goals for the future, an update on the last year, and an update from our president!

As always thank you for your continued support! 🙏🏾 by @tclfoundation

Wow we came a long way with this but the white paper is published under our site’s new resources tab.

This white paper aims to address a few main things:

1️⃣ it underscores the mission of our organization regarding community fridges, and why we believe they will be effective in Baltimore city

2️⃣ it addresses some of the pushback we heard from speaking with local leaders when it comes to creating and maintaining community fridges

3️⃣ serve as a research document for any and everyone to use. The sources are all listed and include a number of historical document scans developed by other local organizations

I want to thank Alyah Kanso, Bernie Del Prado, Daniella Castaldo, and McKinley Seaver for all their hard work and research.

Also thank you to Ann Guo for editing this paper and pushing it to be even better and more comprehensive. What started as a short 3-4 page paper turned into a well thought out 22 page analysis that achors a core element of our mission

Check it out and feel free to share your thoughts!

Happy #friyay it’s a long to do list before the weekend but you got this! Link in bio! by @tclfoundation

Why is #foodsovereignty important? Here are 4️⃣ reasons!

Food sovereignty if centered around the community have input and ownership of their food systems. But what does that really mean?

If you were to ask yourself where does your food come from? Could you truthfully answer? Maybe, maybe not? And that because most people are removed from the actually process of how the food is produced, prepared, and transported to our dinner plates.

Ownership means having agency in all of that process, ensuring that:
1) production practices are beneficial to the environment and the community
2) we understand what is in the food we eat
3)the community is connected to its producers
4)the economic value of the food produced, prepared and transported stays within the local community that it’s produced in
5)local food production is prioritized compared to mass agriculture

What does sovereignty mean to you?
