I always believed that in life, I had to be strong for my family in every aspect. However, God humbled me. Strength isn’t just about standing alone; it’s about reaching where your going, whether that means relying on family, friends, or your spouse to help you get to the finish line in any way necessary.

I experienced a severe ulcerative colitis flare-up that caused me to lose over 30 pounds in less than two weeks. I was unable to walk, eat, or even move, and my incredible wife managed to get me to the hospital. I was hospitalized for about a week and, after returning home for a few days, I found myself not breathing for about a minute, only to come to my amazing wife screaming my name. It was the most peaceful experience I’ve ever had in my life.

I want to thank all our wonderful friends that helped out during this wild moment, as well as our family for being there when they could. We love you all, and I’m finally on the road to recovery. #ulcertivecolitis #neardeathexperience #family #faith by @tcruz57
