Checking off my boxes and things are getting done! 🙌 Still super nervous, but I know that's just a little anxiety mixed with a whole lot of excitement.

It's all starting to feel real!

I'm also busy painting more 6x6 squares and getting those little guys ready to join the rest of the artwork. Because apparently, I don't know when to stop adding to my to-do list! 😂🎨

I can't wait to see everyone there, catch up, meet some new faces, and share what I've been working on.

See you Saturday, November 7th, from 4–7 PM at White Bluffs Brewing! ❤️ by @tdawn326

Bear Having Tea

Day three of my Creative DNA challenge with Indigo Bee Academy! 🐻☕️
Today's challenge was to draw a bear having tea. So, here's my interpretation of what they had in mind! I had fun with this one and took it in my own direction.
Hope everyone enjoys my little tea party guest! ❤️

Just days away from my solo exhibit at White Bluffs Brewing in Richland! ❤️
Come on down, say hello, check out some art, and maybe meet a few new faces along the way. I'd love to spend a little time chatting it up, sharing what I've been working on, and enjoying some good company.

Hope to see you there! 🍻🎨 by @tdawn326

I asked Bixby, today, who initiated her (not sure why it's a her) on my phone and she sat silent. This was a bit unsettling. I then asked her to uninstall herself on my phone and she took a screenshot instead.

I then copy and pasted the previous paragraph to Chat GPT (which I use at times) and she had nothing but excuses for her BFF.

Day 2 of my Creative DNA experiment through Indigo Bee Academy! 🎨

The bottom sketch? I put a lot of work into that one. Started with pencil, went over it with pen, added markers, and then went BACK over it with pen again. 😂 And honestly, I loved the process!

But when I went to do the top one, I thought, “What can I do differently that isn't so Teresa-like?” So I grabbed a pen, went straight into freehand, and left some of those spaces without filling everything in with color.
I have to say, as a perfectionist, it's HARD to just let it be. My brain wants to go back in and fix things, fill in the gaps, and keep working on it. 🤦‍♀️

But here's what I learned. If this wasn't my sketch and I came across it, I would really appreciate it for what it is. So why am I having such a hard time giving myself that same appreciation?
Maybe I need to trust my freehand style a little more and stop feeling like every sketch needs to turn into a whole painting. Not everything needs to be filled in, polished up, or perfected.

Sometimes I just need to let my creativity do its thing and leave it alone! Easier said than done, but hey, that's what this experiment is all about, right? 😉

We're a little further into the week, so here's your friendly reminder! 😉🎨

NEXT WEEKEND, November 7th, I'll be at White Bluffs Brewing for a three-hour art exhibit from 4–7 PM!

Come on out, enjoy the art, grab a drink, and hang out for a bit. Whether you can stay awhile or just swing through to say hi, I'd love to see you there! ❤️

Mark those calendars! I hope to see some familiar faces and maybe a few new ones, too! by @tdawn326

MY CREATIVE DNA

I'm working on a project through IndigoBee Academy called the Creative DNA Experiment, and it's got me looking at my work a little differently. It's not just about what I create, but also about finding the patterns and connections that make my art mine.
Picking just 5 sketches was no easy task! There’s a little piece of me in everything I create, and I chose sketches that brought back some pretty precious memories throughout the years.
I don't have years and years of illustration experience under my belt, but I do create for a brewing company and have illustrated one children's book (so far 😉). My main focus is painting, but I spend quite a bit of time with a pencil in my hand, too.
Now, I want to ask YOU something! What kind of patterns do you see in my drawings? Are there certain things that stand out to you? Maybe themes or connections that I haven't even noticed myself?
I'd love to hear your thoughts! Sometimes, other people see things in our work that we don't see ourselves, and I'm curious to see what you find. ❤️

A little Sunday sketch to stay in practice.

Okay, I'll be honest. I have a hard time just sitting and watching football (GO LIONS! 🦁💙). My mind is ALWAYS spinning, and I need something to keep my hands busy.

So, what do I do? I CREATE! 😂

Honestly, I think this is how I keep myself from completely spiraling while watching the game. A little football, a little sketching, and letting my mind do its thing. Sounds like a pretty good Sunday to me! ❤️ by @tdawn326

DON’T FORGET TO MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

I hope to see some familiar faces (and maybe some new ones!) on November 7th at White Bluffs Brewing in Richland!
Swing on through for a few minutes, or stay awhile, hang out, and enjoy some good company.

I’ll be there with my latest art from 4–7 PM, and I’d love to see you! Come say hi, check out what I’ve been creating, and spend a little time with me.
Hope to see you there! 🖌️🎨 by @tdawn326

In general, it's amazing how we take from others things we don't even need. Sometimes, we get so caught up in wanting more that we don't stop to realize what we already have.
I think we all need to take a step back sometimes and really look at what's around us. We might realize that we have more than enough, and that what we keep reaching for isn't always what we truly need.
Sometimes, it's not about what we can get from others, but learning to appreciate what we already have. ❤️ by @tdawn326

Another practice session with oil pastels! 🎨
I'm really enjoying the learning process and figuring out how to make these little sticks of color do what I want them to do. 😂 I'm learning to give myself a little grace and remember that getting better takes time.
I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but I'm enjoying the process. Someday, the confidence will catch up with the excitement, and I can't wait to see where this takes me! by @tdawn326

Moon Memories

Some of the first paintings I started creating were moons. 🌙 It feels so good to dabble back into this theme again. There’s something special about coming back to something that was part of the beginning of your creative journey. A little reminder of where it all started and how much joy there is in simply creating. 🖤✨ by @tdawn326
