More highlights from my solo trip on the San Juan river but I wanted to take this opportunity to share these photos. I recently decided to engage more in film photography. I have been documenting my adventures for years using quick develop film and it’s been great but I wanted to take It to another level. I purchased a Canon A1 with 50 and 28mm lenses. I built out a pelican case for It as well as my instant film camera and packed It on the boat. I love the effort of film and the singular moment to try and capture something. Point, shoot, move on. I have a few friends that have been traveling around in South America in some of my favorite places I’ve ever been and it’s making me reminiscent and pondering some things. This is a photo I took one perfect evening sitting on a roof in Bariloche Argentina. It’s also the first photo I have posted to my grid since Molly died. I haven’t posted anything the last couple years because I didn’t want her photos and memories to fade into the background. A lot has happened since she died. I’ve fallen in love, had relationships end, made new deep connections, found new passions, held multiple different jobs, found community and home, bought a house and have welcomed an amazing new dog into my life. I’ve floated down beautiful rivers and made memories that I’ll be remembering on my death bed someday. I’ve even found my way back to glass making after a long time away and understand myself better than I ever have. All of these things, good and bad, while always having to battle with my mental health and the low times. I wonder if I’ll post things to catch people up or start from now, maybe not post at all still. All I know right now is that this 33rd year of my life has been the most difficult. I wish I could be sitting on a roof in Argentina with a lot less care. I’m here but sometimes it’s hard to show up and sometimes I feel weightless, like nothing can touch me. If I’ve learned anything it’s that everyone is going through something and I see you for the difficulties we all face. Life’s tough so tell your friends you love them and hug each other a lot. If you follow me, maybe something about my life interests you, maybe not. With every highlight I post I want to be honest about how I have my good days and bad. I know you do too so I’m always happy to hold space for those willing to hold space for others. We all need our turn to be ok not being ok. Keep growing and striving to do better and you’ll be doing It right no matter what else. 🌺 by @tdiesenberg
