I didn’t think my returning post would be of grief. Usually when I take a break & come back I’m more rejuvenated & ready to service. I’m back but still trying to get in the groove. July 2026-September 2026 has been the most devastating time of my life yet. We lost our dad July. & then, the matriarch of our family, mom followed in August. When my dad found out about my small business, he asked if I knew how to make lei like the ones in Chinatown. I said, mostly, yes. Braddah was all stunned.🤣 He told me I definitely got that talent from my mom’s side. He was right. Mom’s side is the creative side. But, I’d like to think my patience in lei making came from him. My mom was my no.1 supporter in all things TE Creations & in life. She was my first lei teacher. Taught me everything i know about making lei po’o & ula lei. If she found out i was making lei for an order, she would be like, “make me one for church too… practice makes perfect.” 🫠🤣 My first workshop, my mom flew up to Honolulu to bring me flowers & support me. I was very happy she came because I was so overwhelmed. But she supported me by assisting the students in our class & speaking positivity into me. So, if you were at my first workshop in 2018, you were taught by the person that taught me how to make lei po’o. 🤍 We will miss you, mom & dad. Forever in our hearts. Ia Manuia Lau Malaga.
