I am obsessed with making Ruth Bader Ginspurrg happy. When she realized I was taking a picture, she crossed her adorable little paws. She’s so precious. 😻🥰🎄🎁

Haven’t gotten around to putting out the holiday decor yet because this ornament from @ferrisbuilt is accurate, but in the meantime it looks lovely displayed on this festive flower. Like what you see and looking for gifts with a purpose? (25% of net proceeds from purchases go to support mental health advocacy programs) There’s still time to get 20% off until 11:59 PM PST with code BLACKFRIDAY20. The shirts are super soft in case you need to know that. https://www.ferrisbuilt.net/?sca_ref=1346113.wraJgecWe8

Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🥂

Just another #Caturday with the girls. Lady Ada Lovelace and Ruth Bader Ginspurrg are worn out from playing and hunting for treats on their morning scavenger hunt. Love them so much! 😻

One person’s Pumpkin Spice Latte seasonal obsession is another one’s Cranberry Bliss Bar enthusiasm. Wishing I had committed to buying an entire box of this goodness, but also glad I didn’t since that’s all I would have eaten for dinner last night. Red cup season is here, y’all!

Dear @starbucks: I 💚 you. Thank you for having oat milk as a choice and for keeping me caffeinated through the years. I now have multiple favorite drinks thanks to the alternative milk choices. #GoldCard4Life

Hello, everyone this message applies to!

Here’s your annual reminder to check the expiration dates on the EpiPens in your household. And if you cannot afford to replace them, please check with your prescriber to see if there may be a discount card or program offering assistance to patients in need. EpiPens save lives. 💫 by @teaaddict13

If you don’t vote, you can’t complain. I don’t make the rules.🥂🇺🇸

Hoping to see less talk, more actual progress this go around.

In honor of #worldmentalhealthday on October 10, my Instapal @ferrisbuilt was offering a discount too good to pass up, so I didn’t.

These shirts are so soft! I spent this week living in the sweatshirts because wearing them was like receiving a hug.

I had been eyeing some of these designs for months, but kept leaving them out of my cart since I thought I would feel awkward wearing something so positive while struggling, but then I realized that’s precisely why I needed to replace other shirts in my closet with these. I may not believe I am enough yet, but someday I might, so in the meantime it will be nice to wear a reminder. Two of these shirts remind me to keep breathing my way through the challenges of feeling like my body has betrayed me, one reminds me to be more present despite all that through mindfulness, another reminds me I didn’t choose my brain chemistry — it chose me, so another shirt reminds me there’s still more to come because my story isn’t over yet and neither is yours since you’re reading this.

You may see a bunch of shirts, but I see hope and comfort.

When I was young, I used to love collecting rocks. Down the street from my parents was a retired couple who would escape the Idaho winters by going to Arizona to spend the time hunting for rocks. These “rock hound” neighbors would occasionally show me their treasures. I’ll never forget the time they took me to their basement (sounds creepy, but this isn’t a Halloween story) where they had rock splitting & polishing equipment down there. It was so cool! Yes, I’m aware I’m a nerd.

Anyway, when my fabulous Instapal @ferrisbuilt gave me the opportunity to choose a piece of her art recently, I told her what colors I liked, but didn’t mention a preference for her appropriately named ethereal collection or the gorgeous geode inspired work. The artwork arrived last week & it’s like she read my mind.

This geode piece is not only printed on super high quality canvas (I’m an artist too & she did not skimp — this canvas will hold tight & has sturdy backing with the hangers already installed so you can easily hang your artwork in whichever direction you prefer), it reminds me of my rock hound neighbors growing up & some of the rocks they had collected, including one they passed along to me. I love the details you can see when viewing this piece up close, like the gold flecks in the center. I’m so glad I let Lindsey surprise me since these colors are perfect.

This makes for my 4th artwork acquisition from @ferrisbuilt & who knows how many shirts at this point. Since I also like to create, my general rule of thumb when it comes to patronizing other artists is to find pieces that I cannot create myself. I am not handy with wood working & have no idea how to layer colors so perfectly with alcohol ink, so I’m happy to have found this #Seattle #womanownedbusiness through a mutual friend. Thank you for this lovely awesomeness, Lindsey!

Even better: 25% of net proceeds from purchases on her site go to support mental health advocacy programs. Check out her artwork & while you’re at it, maybe buy a shirt too. There’s a little something for everyone on her site & the holidays are lurking around the corner. 🥂

Morning Coffee Routine, Featuring Lady Ada Lovelace.

It’s always sad when I have to get up to go to work, but luckily my commute is upstairs and down the hall so we can have regular Bring Your Cat To Work days.
