I’ll be honest, I had no idea who Nancy Meyers was until I started seeing “Nancy Meyers aesthetic” everywhere on my feed…

But then I saw the list of her films and realized… I’ve watched so many of them!

I’ve always loved the charming, layered, lived-in spaces in her films. They feel timeless, beautiful, and elegant without feeling too perfect.

Tea breaks help me get the mental reset I need each day. It’s such a peaceful time and I love to pair my tea with a sweet treat or snack. Today I had a few pieces of @chocolove dark chocolate with sea salt to accompany my @traderjoes morrocan mint tea. How do you reset on long days?

Easiest way to add some charm to those built in microwaves!

Yes we still have a built in microwave and it doesn’t make sense for us to remove it because I don’t want it ending up on the counters. And it’s just not practical for us to redesign our entire kitchen just to move the microwave, which in my opinion is very convenient just where it is.

Adding this beautiful olive leaf wreath above the microwave gave my kitchen instant charm! And you can switch up the ribbon to fit each season ✨

Who else has an over the range microwave instead of a range hood?

A small fix with a big improvement! I can’t believe it took me so long to do this. These two wires keep falling when they are not being used and end up looking so cluttered on my desk. This tiny pink wire holder was just what I needed. And did I mention it comes in pink?! 💕

Better than Panera chicken and wild rice soup!

Once you try this, I guarantee you’ll make it over and over again. It’s creamy, cozy, packed with chicken and veggies, and made with simple ingredients you may already have.

Perfect for fall, a cozy weeknight dinner, or when you’re craving a big comforting bowl of soup.

INGREDIENTS

Carrots — fresh, frozen, or baby carrots
Celery
1 onion, finely diced
1 tsp olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
32 oz chicken stock
Chicken bouillon, about a teaspoon
2 cups water
2 cups milk, divided
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp dried oregano
Salt to taste
1–2 bay leaves
Cooked chicken — leftovers, rotisserie, boiled, or whatever you have on hand
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 box Rice-A-Roni Long Grain & Wild Rice + seasoning packet

HOW TO MAKE IT

1. Add the carrots, celery, onion, and olive oil to a large soup pot. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the onions are translucent.

2. Add the garlic, chicken stock, bouillon, water, and 1 cup of milk. Stir to combine.

3. Add the pepper, oregano, bay leaves, and cooked chicken. Stir and let simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes.

4. In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining 1 cup of milk and flour until smooth. Add it to the soup and slowly whisk to make sure there are no clumps.

5. Add the wild rice mix and the seasoning packet. Stir and let simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.

Taste and adjust the salt and pepper as needed. Serve with fresh garlic bread or any sides you like. Enjoy!

The easiest solution to baby and toddler proof your fireplace. And it also looks cute!

I thought about sewing cushions to fit around this fireplace, even bought the fabric, and then realized there was a much simpler solution using something I already had.

No bulky gates needed, just these interlocking foam mats. My toddlers can still play on and around the fireplace without me having to worry about them getting hurt on the hard stone.

If only baby proofing the rest of the house was this easy!

This is the first thing I would upgrade in any kitchen! Having such a spacious and functional sink is truly a game changer. There are trends for different kinds of sinks which are all beautiful, but if you love a functional kitchen, this workstation sink is all you need.

You never have to worry about space because it is so big. Cutting boards, strainers, drying racks, and all kinds of accessories seamlessly fit within the sink making it so convenient and even more space saving.

How is everyone storing the giant boxes of Costco croissants?!

I hate how cluttered they look on the counters. So I found the largest bread box with the correct dimensions to fit the Costco croissant box…. Well the dimensions were for the outside of the bread box and the inside was just a tiny bit too small 😭

Part 2 of transforming our early 2000s honey oak kitchen without painting or getting rid of the cabinets.

In part 1 we updated the countertops, now we gave the island a makeover and chose a new backsplash.

Since we only have a small wall for backsplash, I wanted to choose something that would make a statement and add a little more detail. This floral marble ended up being the perfect choice. 🤍 I love how it dresses up the space while still complementing the honey oak cabinets.

For the island, I originally pictured a softer, creamy white — but the only color option available was this plain white. We could paint it, but instead of rushing to choose the “perfect” color, we decided to live with the white for a while and see how it works with the rest of the kitchen.

I think with the right lighting, hardware and decor, I can still bring my inspiration to life!

We’re taking this kitchen one update at a time and working with what we have instead of replacing every single thing.
