Why I Started
I created Teacher K.B as my little corner to share my love for teaching, poetry, theatre & public speaking. A space to inspire, document my journey, and connect with students beyond the classroom.

One of the most rewarding parts of being an educator is watching your students take their first confident steps into the professional world.

Recently, I received a heartfelt message from a student who successfully secured an internship after attending our Resume Writing & Professional Grooming workshop. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.

A huge thank you as well to my wonderful co-facilitator, Shalene Namasivayam. ❤️ It has been such a joy working alongside someone who shares the same passion for empowering students. While I focused on helping students craft ATS-friendly, impactful resumes, Shalene equipped them with the confidence and professional presence needed to make lasting first impressions. A full-circle moment as a teacher. ❤️

There's something incredibly special about seeing a student achieve something they once thought was impossible.

Today, I received this message from a parent whose daughter scored full marks in her Year 6 Checkpoint English paper. I couldn't stop smiling.
Moments like these remind me that teaching has never been about just completing a syllabus or preparing students for an exam.

It's about building confidence, creating a safe space to ask questions, and helping every learner truly understand before moving forward.

Every child learns differently. My role is to discover how they learn best, then guide them with patience, structure, and encouragement.

To every student who has trusted me, and every parent who has believed in my teaching, thank you. You are the reason I continue doing what I love.

Here's to many more learning journeys together. 🤍

Teaching the Language of Poetry (Novaira) – March 2026

The class came to an end on a beautiful Thursday.

To be honest, we probably started off on the wrong foot, and I take my share of the blame for that.

Yet, week after week, through our conversations, laughter, discussions, and shared moments of discovery, I found myself falling in love with this class.

Watching them engage with poetry, challenge ideas, and uncover beauty in words reminded me why I teach in the first place.

People often say that teachers shape students. While that is true, I firmly believe that students shape teachers too.

This class taught me so much:

✨ Don't judge too quickly.
✨ Go with the flow sometimes.
✨ Learning should be fun.
✨ Trust your students—they are often capable of far more than we imagine.

Some of the most magical classroom moments happen when we step back and allow students the space to surprise us.

Thank you, Novaira, for allowing me to share my love for poetry with you. More importantly, thank you for the lessons you taught me along the way.

Here's to words, wonder, and the little miracles that happen in classrooms every day. ❤️

📚 Continuous learning never goes out of style.

Glad I managed to make time to attend the Managing Effective Mid-Year Performance Conversations & System Training recently.

The session provided valuable insights into conducting meaningful performance conversations, navigating the system effectively, and understanding the key do's and don'ts when engaging with staff performance reviews.

A special thank you to the HR team for facilitating such an engaging and practical session. Both trainers were knowledgeable, approachable, and generous in sharing their experiences, making the learning process clear and accessible for everyone involved.

As educators and professionals, we often focus on developing others. Sessions like these serve as an important reminder that our own growth and development matter too.

Looking forward to applying these insights in practice.

✨ A Dream Come True for LitLive ✨

Yesterday marked a very special milestone as MELTA SIG: LitLive successfully hosted our very first webinar:

"Using Poetry in the Malaysian Classroom"

With 76 participants joining us from various educational backgrounds, we spent an inspiring afternoon exploring how poetry can be made more meaningful, engaging, and accessible for Malaysian learners.

What made this event truly memorable was the presence of Prof. Dr. Malachi Edwin Vethamani, whose passion for literature and wealth of experience transformed the session into a rich and engaging learning experience. Through his insights, stories, and practical strategies, he reminded us that poetry is not merely a text to be analysed, but an experience to be felt, enjoyed, and lived.

As the Coordinator of MELTA SIG: LitLive, my heart is incredibly full.

When this SIG was first entrusted to me, I hoped it would become a space where literature is not viewed as intimidating or inaccessible, but as something alive, relevant, and deeply human. Seeing educators gather to discuss poetry, share ideas, ask questions, and celebrate literature together reassured me that this vision is possible.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to:
