“𝗕𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿. 𝗕𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮.” — Roy Fong, Imperial Tea Court

I feel this one. We are both immigrants. He arrived at thirteen with no English, four-foot-eleven, ninety pounds. He followed his nose into a Hong Kong tea shop, filled a suitcase with leaves, and opened the first traditional Chinese teahouse in North America on the Fourth of July, 1993 — two hundred dollars and a Visa card. On opening morning, the tea was still in Tokyo.

🍃 He ages Pu-erh by the ton.

🍵 He has sold a 1989 cake for $2,000.

💚 He treats every tea as a living being — “𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤.”

恭喜發財! Gong Hey Fat Choy!🧧

Wondering how to greet someone during the Chinese New Year to bring on good luck, red pocket lai-see, and a big smile?

Long before #manifestation became a TikTok trend, Cantonese speakers mastered the art of speaking fortune into existence.

This isn't just "Happy New Year." It means "Congrats on getting rich!" — spoken as if prosperity is already here!

Every phrase is chosen because it SOUNDS like luck.

Say the right words — summon the right fortune.

🐎 Two of my favorite horse-related greetings for 2026:

馬到功成! "Ma Do Gong Sing" Cantonese — Success upon the horse's arrival!
龍馬精神! "Lone Ma Jing Shen" Cantonese — Dragon Horse Spirit!

Pause. Pour. Breathe in deeply. 🍵

Close my laptop. Turn off notifications. Just golden oolong meeting a waiting cup.

Take a tea-time break—being one with tea.

What does your tea moment look like? 😍

Ever wonder what Halle Berry, Janet Jackson, Salma Hayek, and Cindy Crawford all have in common?

It's not Hollywood. It's not fame. It's their Chinese zodiac sign.

They were all born in 1966 — the Year of the Fire Horse 🐎🔥

This is the rarest combination in the 60-year Chinese calendar.

In 1966, Japan's birth rate dropped 25% because families feared Fire Horse daughters would be "too strong-willed."

Those "feared" women?

They became some of the most successful stars of their generation.

The Fire Horse is back in 2026. Meet some of the Fire Horse celebrities of 1966 🔽

🧧 8 Lucky Foods for Chinese New Year -- and why every bite is a blessing.

🐟 Whole Fish = abundance (but NEVER flip it over — that's capsizing a boat!)
🥟 Dumplings = wealth (good things are stuffed inside! Gold?)
🍜 Longevity Noodles = long life (never cut them)...

Every dish at the Chinese New Year table is chosen with intention — each ingredient a blessing for health, wealth, and happiness.

And of course, every feast ends with tea. 🍵

🎉 Happy Chinese New Year! Sending you 龍馬精神 — Dragon Horse Spirit 🐉 🐎

My 99-year-old father wrote this blessing to share with our global communiTEA.

2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse — the rarest zodiac year, once every 60 years!

Bold energy, swift transformation, unstoppable spirit. ⚡️

Tea and the Chinese New Year are one.

On this auspicious day, families gather, pay their respects to elders and ancestors, pour tea for them, and welcome new blessings.

馬到功成 🐎 — May you enjoy 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲'𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹!
(Cantonese - Ma-Do-Gong-Seng | Mandarin - Ma Dao Gong Cheng)

Wishing you and yours good health, peace, and prosperity.

Gong Hey Fat Choy from our tea family to yours! 🍵🧧

💖 Happy Valentine's Day, tea lovers. 🍵

Speaking of romance — our dear friend, Norwood Pratt, America's Tea Sage, wrote the classic "𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘆" and annotated author William H. Ukers' beloved 1936 masterwork, "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗮."

We were honored to sit down with Norwood for a heartfelt tea conversation.

As Norwood says, "𝙋𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙡𝙮." Enjoy! 🍵

💫 Steeping in love in Valentine's week, we pay tribute to tea. 🍵

🌿 She crossed oceans. She sparked revolutions. She's warmed hearts for 5,000 years.❤️

💖 She never asks for anything in return — just a quiet moment and an open heart.

🎥 We spent 6 years making a film about this love story. The mountains where she was born. The hands that craft her. The millennia of devotion and romance she inspires.💓

Thank you, Norwood Pratt, American Tea Sage, for your beautiful words:
