Tonight my solo show opens at Galerie Sans Nom! It is the final presentation of some of the work I made as part of my Bourse Imago. There is an opening celebration for multiple exhibits including work by Jacob Puffer, Natalie Martin, and Rotchild Choisy, tonight between 5-7pm. Pictured are some process pictures taken from my iPad. If these pics look good to you, can you imagine how good the art would look in person with cheese in your mouth and a cracker in your hand? Luckily, you don’t have to imagine! I would love to see you there!

Final Porta-Confessional recap! Thank you to everyone who helped and interacted with the project! We wouldn’t have been able to do it without our awesome friends and partners. If you interacted with the sculpture during Sappy please share your experience! We’ve loved hearing the stories trickle in. My favourite so far has been hearing from a friend of a guitarist who went in late at night and was in there for a few minutes alone before a voice from the other side went: “so are you going to confess?” And then they talked for over an hour! Yay for talking to strangers and learning about eachother.

Also if you have any great pictures of the project (particularly of the before…) please send them my way!

Thank you to Lucas Morneau for the first four pictures and to @strutsgallery and @sappyfest for the support and for being awesome :) by @teagan_ks

Galerie Sans Nom presents in partnership with @atelierimagoinc, I will take your hand and you will not touch anything by Teagan Stewart, recipient of the 2025 Imago Bursary.

Teagan Stewart is an interdisciplinary artist living in the Mi’kma’ki district of Siknikt (Sackville, New Brunswick). Her work starts from a collection of discarded materials or words, and ends with a humorous and genuine sculpture, bookwork, or installation. Recently, all things have been leading to exploring our relationship between people and birds & trees, and how these shape our interpretations of self.

Her work has been supported by the New Brunswick Arts Board, the Bourse Imago, Mount Allison University, the J.E.A Crake Foundation, the Marjorie Young Bell Foundation, the Mary MacDonald Award, the Gibbens Lassonde Performance Award, the Lavina Estabrooks Scholarship, and her partner, friends, and family, all for which she is eternally grateful. by @teagan_ks

Drawing I made a month ago inspired by Luna (my beautiful cat), but decided to post randomly and this is what I decided to share because I’ve been super into cats recently. I think because I am missing some of my favourite cats who are in Sackville where I am not. They are just the cutest things and I am completely at their mercy. I do not harbour any resentment of being at the mercy of another animal, but I do find it interesting that I never would have considered myself a “cat person” until recently and it’s kinda brutal how unaware I was of my “cat person” transformation. I would totally make a full series of work about my cat. Could better work be made? Beats me. All I know is that cats have muse potential and they know it. Sorry to all those allergic. You guys are missing out and I hope you can find your daily fluff quotas elsewhere. Also life update: I am making a bench! With help from my awesome and very knowledgeable grandfather! So exciting. Just you wait it will be the most beautiful of all the beautiful benches. Anyone who wants to sit on it can. #allbuttswelcome. Made it in my Struts hat because it is cool to wear artist-run-centre merch and you too can be cool for only $35. Sorry for turning this into an ad #notcool #newbench #ilovecats #seeyoulateralligator by @teagan_ks

Porta-Confessional by Teagan & Jacob
July 31 – August 2, 12–7 PM
Outside in the parking lot beside Struts Gallery
7 Lorne Street

Struts is very happy to present 𝑳’𝑨𝒎𝒃𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, July 31- August 2, a series of short-term artist projects running contemporaneous to everyone’s favourite music festival Sappyfest. We’ll be highlighting this year’s projects as we count down to the festival. But the best way to witness them is in person so get your @sappyfest tickets!

Porta-Confessional is a participatory sculptural installation which takes the form of two adjacent, meticulously-crafted cardboard porta-potty-confessional-booths. Within the installation, Sappyfest attendees of all ages are invited to either write or speak, and then leave behind, their confessions – whatever they may be.

Jacob & Teagan are Mi’kma’ki (Sackville)-based post-BFA mixed media visual artists, collaborators and friends whose work together has grown out of the spaces in between literature and art. Teagan describes Jacob as a colourfully capped, quietly smiley guy, who secretly wants to talk to you and hear all you have to say; Jacob describes Teagan as a boundlessly-effervescent, unflinching optimist whose capacity for bringing people together can only be explained by magic.

Got the flag in capture the flag for the first time ever and am still riding that high. Have always dreamed of that moment and let me tell you it was awesome. The skies opened and a trumpets played and light poured out over me as I grabbed it and ran (no one was chasing me otherwise this would not have been a success story). Am making things out of materials that originally were trees for the most part. Gotta love trees. #dontbeatreehater #isawaporcupineandittoowashuggingatree by @teagan_ks
