Sweet @missginaross and @skiduls photographed at Gina’s home and medicinal garden that were destroyed by the Eaton fire. It the short time I’ve known her, Gina has shown herself to be more resilient than any of us should ever have to be and has moved through her life’s trials with awe-inspiring grace, honesty and vulnerability. Her magical garden was the foundation of her small business @sentient.kin.apothecary and was the result of countless hours of labor and knowledge gathering. She is a gift to this community and anyone interested in helping her can find the link to her gofundme in her bio. Photographed for @zeit. taken in Altadena, CA by @team_ream

Sweet Ben - chef, skater, style icon (he‘d want everyone to know he stopped wearing brimmed hats in 2017) and dear friend to so many. I’m beyond grateful for the time we had and the miles we traveled. Thank you, Ben, for nourishing our bellies and our souls. Now you live on forever in our hearts. Much love to Ben’s friends and family all over the world. The streets of San Francisco will never be the same. BDRO FOREVER

Note: Ben used this song in the second half of his Redwood Roll IV super-cut back in 2015. Go find it on YouTube and you’ll see- this man loved his friends so much. We love you too, Ben! by @team_ream

Solo road trip, summer 2014. No AC. These are mostly from along the Gulf Coast, from Port Arthur, TX through Louisiana.

I was thinking about these photos yesterday, then saw @perezbrenna post (go watch it) about how Pecan Island, LA (slide 1) is going to be the site of a $100b SpaceX launch site, in what seems like a pretty raw deal for the people and the place, so it seemed like a good time to share.

I wound up making a zine from this trip called Disco Fire. I miss making photos like this; slow, aimless, HORIZONTAL! Gotta get back into it. by @team_ream

July 4, 2019 van troubles had me stranded solo in Hawthorne, Nevada , the site of the world’s largest ammunition storage facility and “America’s Home of Patriotism.” As it turns out, most of the population was at Walker Lake for the festivities and the place felt like a ghost town. I walked around shooting photos and met a handful of people, including Chad, who claimed to be a test subject in MK ultra and to have met Timothy Mcveigh at Stanford. I went to bed early that night and was at the hardware store as soon as it opened in the morning. taken in Hawthorne, Nevada by @team_ream

“Dick Vivian has left the dance floor.”

San Francisco is a little less soulful this week with the loss of sweet, beloved, hillarious Dick Vivian (@rooky_ricardos_records).

These photos are outtakes from a @gq feature I shot on Dick back in 2013. I was never much of a 45 collector, but I was a huge fan of Dick’s mix CDs, which got countless spins in the van back in the day.

He was a true San Francisco original and I’m sure gonna miss dropping in on him for a quick chat on future visits to the city.

Big hugs to everyone lucky enough to have known him. taken in Lower Haight by @team_ream
