Look at this sexy team with their new kit at Spartan Midlands 🔥 by @team_wildfire_ocr

Vibes are still high following an awesome Spartan weekend at pippingford. It may have been the last Spartan of the season but that didn’t dampen spirits and the team came out stronger than ever. So because wildfire admin does what he wants, we are doing #medalmonday on Thursday

Spartan Ultra 🟣 52km / 1800m elevation

What a rollercoaster of a ride that was. The traditional love-hate relationship with the Pippingford hills and terrain a constant throughout. The goal was simply to get to the finish line (no worries over placing position or time) and have a good time. Obstacle completion was great (61/62) - 2x spears 🎯, only failing tilt ladders on lap 2 when my grip was going. Although part of my soul was left at varying carries.

Finished - yes
Enjoyed - probably 85%, there were some dark moments on lap 2
Would I do it again - yes, stupidly enough

Massive shout out to @adam.wakeling86 for the company on lap 2, pulling eachother through the ups and downs.

Also thanks to all the @team_wildfire_ocr folks for the support around the course!

And yet again, Pippingford has taken claim to my shoes...

London South East - Super 🔵⁣
⁣
The final series race of the year.⁣
⁣
If I was being a pessimist I could be pissed that I gassed out at the end, after my burpees, which meant I failed the tilting ladders as I couldn't breathe and got lightheaded. ⁣
Nearly vommed before the low rig & missed a podium by less than a min. (Massive kudos @mccrea_em for her podium after an ultra- you're incredible!!)⁣
⁣
BUT - I genuinely LOVED this race - until the burpees, It was the best I have felt all year having felt awful in all my other races.⁣
I felt so good on course & like I had my mojo back! So I was buzzing.⁣
My knee gave me no issues too!⁣
⁣
Loved my ongoing battle with @climbhigh22 igh22 & chuffed to get the low rig .⁣
⁣
I also got my redemption in the open sprint by hitting my spear & completing the tilting ladders.⁣
⁣
The positives far outweigh the things that went wrong & these are easily fixed by working harder & getting better - I'm excited to see what @coach_wendyorchard has in store for me.⁣
⁣
4th AG.⁣
4th for the AG National Series. ⁣
⁣
4 national series races:⁣
Three 4ths⁣
One 5th.. improving on last years placing.⁣🤩
⁣
At least Im consistent & Maybe next year I can stop being the bridesmaid🤣🤣

Congrats to my awesome teamies @team_wildfire_ocr for your podiums and achievements !

Spartan Pippingford Ultra - British OCR Ultra Championships 🟣

52.95km 🏃‍♀️
1738m elevation ⛰️
62 obstacles 🐒
9 hours, 40 minutes, 46 seconds ⏱️

3rd in Spartan AG 35-39 🥉
7th woman in British OCR Ultra Champs 🇬🇧
10th woman overall inc. elites & internationals 😯

My biggest race of the year and the one I was most excited for. Happy to say I LOVED the majority of it! 🙌

The first few km went well, until the 8ft wall around 6km in - it took me about 5 mins to get over it as the terrain made it very difficult to do my usual jump onto the step and I kept failing. Got it eventually but I’d lost everyone I was running with, and then missed a turning and found myself lost off-course 🤦‍♀️
Thankfully I spotted a staff member who directed me back and eventually I managed to catch up with some of the other women.

Things picked up then and for the majority of the race I was having a great time, running where I could and hiking the uphills and the difficult terrain. I ran/hiked a lot of it with @emma_ocr_kirkwood which made it much more fun as we had a lovely chat and enjoyed the obstacles, the views and the sunshine together ☀️

I loved the new rigs, the return of tilting ladders and the memory test, and was happy to complete every obstacle except the spear throw on my first lap 🥳

Fuelling, hydration, pacing & general energy management all went really well until about 3km from the end when my race started to collapse 🫠 Fatigue kicked in, I lost all strength and power, and failed proteus, tilting ladders and the low rig on my 2nd lap. Annoying as I really wanted to complete all obstacles except the spears but by that point I had nothing left.

Before that though I had loved it! A full day out in the sun, doing things I love with great company and beautiful views - what could be better? 😍
Soon it will be cold and dark and all this won’t be possible, so my priority was to enjoy it while I could ☺️

Thank you to Ricci @coachcarrino for the running and strength coaching and Scott @theptbarn for the obstacle coaching that made this race achievable 🖤💚

Feeling very grateful for my health, fitness, and energy letting me experience this adventure 🙌 by @team_wildfire_ocr

This weekend saw the last @spartanraceuk event of the year at Pippingford, London way somewhere...
Might have made 2nd on the podium for the 10k super in my Age Category, which placed me 2nd over all in the series too. That was a great end to the weekend, but just as great to see the @team_wildfire_ocr team and do the 5k Sprint afterwards with some of the team.💙
But getting some obstacle achievements too, Olympus which is a toughie, only done once before in 8 years racing, but got it today, had a blip on the rope climb and monkey bars recently, if you saw the monkey bars ya would know, the bars are like 10 miles apart 😆, but completed on both races and tilting ladders on the Super, means more than the medals in a way...oh and got the pesky spear on both = no frigging burpees!
Big shout out also to those on the team that did the ultra 💪

The August roundup ☀️
Another great month of racing from the team, taking on OCR World Champs, Spartan badminton, deadly dozen and a triathlon in Lake Tahoe.
Crushing it 💪🏻 by @team_wildfire_ocr

June was another busy month for our athletes. Here’s the roundup

@gym_now_pizza_later @nikki_firefly @sazcladbrooke @glass_back_ultra_runner @kylecf88 @antstilwell @the_training_hajdu all took on deka Manchester and some of them even got a cheeky podium! 🥈🥳
@stacey2701 @antstilwell @gym_now_pizza_later went international to Sweden to take on tors trophy and each had some good wins!
@adam.wakeling86 did so much stuff AGAIN that he doesn’t even tell us what he did 🤣 but we are continued to be amazed by his non stop racing
@robgreen92 was also excited to tell us he had bought some new super fast running shoes (and didn’t mention anything about @rustymania influence 🤣)

There was probably more races (excluding Spartan) this month but they didn’t tell admin so we don’t know about it. Either way, the season is full on now and we are everywhere 🔥💪🏻 by @team_wildfire_ocr
