It’s taken a bit of time to write this. In fact it’s taken a bit of time to sink in. Solden is always a big race. It’s the first World Cup after a long summer break and nobody really knows how fast they are skiing. Freddy started with bib 46, already 20 numbers better than his first Solden attempt last year. He battled the poor visibility and skied a stunning full attack run into 21 st. He was in the 2nd run of a World Cup for the first time. That is always very special. Many hold back a lot in their first qualifier but Freddy put on a show. He skied a very solid run, the 5 th fastest in run 2 and ended up 12 th. At 19 years that’s a seriously impressive result and certainly put him on the map.
This result means we will head over to the US for the next World Cup gs races later in November.
Another historical day for Team Carrick-Smith.

These results are a result of years of hard work from the whole team and we are immensely proud of the huge effort.
Thank you to you all for being with us on this journey. Let’s keep pushing.

Freddy battled his way to the top step at the final ANC slalom in New Zealand in some seriously tough conditions scoring his best ever slalom result. 16 points is his second best result following his Europa Cup win last year.
After run 1 Luca was ahead of the field by a quarter of a second. One error in the pitch unfortunately meant it was not to be this time but again Luca showed how strong he can be. Zak put in some outstanding skiing as always until he caught a tip. Such are the ups and downs of ski racing. Onwards. by @teamcarricksmith

Greetings from New Zealand.
There is such an incredible amount that goes into everyday from each athlete, every coach, service person and physio. Not every day goes your way but you turn up and give 100% everyday.
Ski racing is tough and the ever changing conditions make it a real challenge but we need to learn to ski everything and it is a never ending search for the right set up, the right line, technique and mindset.
Sometimes things go your way and today was one of those days. This is a first for us with all 3 guys on the podium. A truly historic moment for the brothers who are rivals, supporters and most importantly brothers.
Thank you as always to you all for your incredible support behind the scenes. We are truly grateful by @teamcarricksmith

Quick update from the British Championships where Zak put on Downhill skis for the first time. A couple of fantastic days in Santa Caterina saw Zak taking the u21 Downhill and Super G titles and a massive pb points score in super g.

So close. by @teamcarricksmith

We don’t think emotions get tougher than at the Junior World Championships. Sport has a way of being emotional at times and this was the most emotional we’ve ever felt so far on this journey. There were definitely tears shed by many.
Slalom run 1 at the World Junior Championships and Luca is leading by over a second with Freddy in 2nd and Zak in 10th. Zak pulled his back in run 1 but managed to start 2. Freddy skied a solid run 2 and skied into runner up position behind Fux of Switzerland. With a huge advantage after run 1 Luca skied an unbelievable and very calm run 2 leading at the split time by over 2 seconds. One slightly impatient turn about 10 gates from the end resulted in a straddle. Several hearts broke at that moment including ours. Winning the worlds would have given him a start at the World cup finals next week. Today it didn’t happen but I know it will. Luca will be right up there amongst the world’s best in the next few years.
Huge congratulations to Freddy for his silver medal. Unbelievable and Zak for his incredible 7 th in the Giant Slalom. 2 Junior World Championships medals. 2cm from a third. 5 Youth Olympic medals along the way.
The support the 3 boys showed each other today made us all so incredibly proud of them
Thank you to you all for your support over the years. It means the world. Now the work begins. Onwards. @freddycarricksmith @lucacarricksmith @zakcarricksmithski
