🕯️ International Wave of Light – October 15th

Tonight at 7pm, we’re inviting you to join us in lighting a candle in memory of all babies gone too soon.

Every year on October 15th, people around the world light candles at 7pm in their local time, creating a wave of light that travels across the globe.

We’ll be lighting ours for Charli Mae and all the babies who are loved, missed and remembered every day.

Whether you’ve experienced loss yourself, know someone who has, or simply want to show your support, we’d love for you to take a moment and join us.

If you’re lighting a candle tonight, please feel free to share a photo or your baby’s name in the comments. We’d love to remember them with you. ❤️

What a Sunday! ❤️

The 4th annual Charli Mae Shield was about so much more than football.

There were goals, plenty of laughs, some questionable football on display, and most importantly, a real sense of togetherness.

Behind every jersey and every name on that pitch was a child who is loved, missed and remembered.

When we started the Charli Mae Shield four years ago, we could never have imagined what it would grow into.

Sunday was also a big milestone for Bear FC. What started as a small group of dads getting together for a kickabout has grown into something really special. This was our first match, but it certainly won’t be our last!

Days like Sunday are a reminder of why the Charli Mae Foundation exists. To support families affected by pregnancy and infant loss, create opportunities for connection and ensure our children are never forgotten.

A massive thank you to @feileacainfathers for making the trip from Ireland, to everyone involved with Bear FC, our match sponsors @oneillssportswearna and @ohaganmeyerlaw, @sad.dads.club, our volunteers from @irelandnetwork_chicago, donors and everyone who came along to support us. Thanks also to @outplayed.tv, @theaj_lens and @cshuchicago for capturing the day.

We’re still taking it all in, but we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the weekend what it was.

The Fourth Charli Mae Shield is in the books and it was another one that won’t be forgotten.

Bear FC is a group that has become very important to me over the last 5 months and I am proud this event gave the dads that have quickly become friends an opportunity to play in memory of their babies. I’m excited to see this community grow after the first ever game.

Thanks to @spiritof88csc and @feileacainfathers for being the inspiration behind what has been set up and for coming to Chicago to play yesterday. It motivates me to grow our group in the way you’ve grown yours so we can have a positive impact on each other.

I also want to thank @kurt_morath and @oneillssportswearna for supplying both amazing kits for yesterdays game. Incredible gear and looking forward to continuing the relationship in 2027. Thanks also to @sad.dads.club and @worstclubbestguys for the t shirts every dad wore before yesterdays game. Your generosity provided an emotional token of appreciation to every player playing.

Thanks to all my colleagues at @chicagofire for playing or helping make the day a success. Thanks @ajmaitland1 for all of your support since launching and helping with a lot of our media pieces. And thanks to all the incredible people who gave us raffle prizes.

Final thank you to my amazing wife @emperr9 for always allowing me the time to come up with ways to honor Charli Mae. You’re the best mother to both our girls and I’d be lost with out you.

The funds raised for @teamcharlimae will help so many families and I’m thrilled to say that we are now at $9400 to date! We appreciate each person who has donated.

Grief is hard and I’ll be sad for a few days coming down from the high of yesterday. Charli might not have spent time on this earth but days like yesterday help make sure she still has a huge impact on the world.

Love you Charli, forever and a day.

Extremely honored to join @teamcharlimae in welcoming the @feileacainfathers to Chicago at Ireland House.

The Féileacáin Fathers will be playing Bear FC this Sunday raising awareness for early child loss and the impact. Both the Charli Mae Foundation and Féileacáin Fathers do crucial work advocating and supporting families after pregnancy and infant loss while providing the much needed sense of community and connection. They have tremendous impact on supporting men's mental health and breaking the silence that too often surrounds loss.

We would like to extend a massive congratulations to Dean Arrowsmith for his incredible work as an advocate here in Chicago with the Charli Mae Foundation and connecting back to Ireland to make weekends like this happen. Thank you to all who have flown over from Ireland. The players will be playing in memory of their children and their families.

The match will take play Sunday at 2PM at Endeavor Health Fire Pitch. We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate marathon Sunday. by @teamcharlimae

Today marks the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week, October 9–15. 💗💙

For many parents and families, the loss of a baby is something they carry with them every single day, regardless of how much time has passed.

This week is about remembering those babies, acknowledging the families who miss them, and helping to break the silence that so often surrounds pregnancy and infant loss.

It’s also a reminder that while we may not always know what to say to someone who has experienced loss, simply acknowledging their child and remembering their name can mean more than we realize.

Through the Charli Mae Foundation, we hope to continue raising awareness, supporting families, and making sure no parent feels alone in their grief.

This week, as always, we remember our Charli Mae and all the babies who are loved and missed every day.
