Following careful consideration, Team England Cheer has made the decision not to field an All Girl Select team at the 2027 ICU World Championships.

The Select division was announced relatively late, and with the limited preparation time available, we do not feel that 2027 would allow us the time needed to build, prepare and develop the strongest possible team to represent England on the world stage.

Our priority has always been to put the best possible team forward for England, and we believe taking the additional time to prepare properly is the right approach.

Looking ahead to 2028, Team England Cheer intends to field both an All Girl Select team and a Coed Premier team at the ICU World Championships.

The decision to introduce a Coed Premier team in 2028 is also strategically important, as competing in the Premier division in 2028 will be necessary for consideration for the 2029 World Cup.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 THE JOURNEY TO 2028 BEGINS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We are excited to announce that we will be holding a National Development Camp on Saturday 23rd January 2027 at EMCA, open to athletes interested in both the All Girl Select and Coed Premier teams

This will be an opportunity for athletes to come together, work with the Team England coaching team, develop their skills and gain an understanding of what will be expected as we build towards 2028

📅 Saturday 23rd January 2027
📍 EMCA
🇬🇧 Teams: All Girl Select & Coed Premier

Trials are anticipated to take place in May 2027, with selected teams commencing training in September 2027

Training dates and further information will be announced shortly.
We are incredibly excited about what this means for the future of Team England Cheer and the opportunities it will create for athletes across England.

We will take the time to build both teams with the preparation, development and commitment required to represent England with pride in 2028.

And there are still plenty of exciting things happening for Team England Cheer in 2027!

Keep your eyes peeled, tomorrow we will be announcing an update on the teams we will be fielding at The Europeans 2027 very soon! 👀 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
