Lead & Top Rope Nationals Recap: Part 1! 🧗‍♂️✨

What a weekend in Salt Lake City! Watching TeamGrippen step out onto the national stage is always special, but this year was an entirely new chapter. For most of our crew, this was their very first time under the big lights at Nationals.

With only one shot up on that massive wall, the first-Nats jitters are incredibly real. It is a high-pressure stage, but we are so incredibly proud of how this team handled the moment, the way they fought through the nerves, and the valuable takeaways they are already bringing home to the gym.

But we have got to talk about Carolyn’s run. 🤯
To say it was wild is an understatement. She gave us an absolute masterclass in epic try-hard, throwing down a scary, jaw-dropping bat hang that had the entire crowd holding their breath. Just when we thought our hearts couldn’t take any more, she came flying off the wall with the absolute cutest scream. Unforgettable. (And huge shoutout to her for bringing home a massive 9th place finish in U20! 🎉)

A massive shoutout also goes to ALL of the amazing parents. You all were absolute troopers this weekend, braving the wacky weather and that brutal heat to cheer everyone on. We see you and appreciate you!

To the whole Lead/TR squad: you climbed with heart, you learned a ton, and we couldn’t be prouder mentors.

Thanks to @gajdaphotography for these great photos!

Stay tuned for Part 2 for Boulders and Speed!

TeamGrippen’s Seniors 🥺 As we near Übergrippen Denver’s EIGHTH year, we’re reminded of just how long we’ve known some of these team members. Andrew & Korbett joined back in 2018 and 19, respectively, and Ilana’s been climbing with us since we opened in 2017! It’s hard to imagine it was that long ago, and then you reflect on the years since and remember the growth we’ve seen in all of these guys. We’re so proud of the athletes, coaches, and people they’ve become. Good luck Malia, Scarlett, Sachi, Ilana, Andrew and Korbett! TeamGrippen and ÜG won’t be the same without you! taken in Übergrippen Indoor Climbing Crag by @teamgrippen

TeamGrippen Tryouts in the books! We’re always so impressed with our current athletes: to watch their kindness to others, poise, graciousness and strength on the wall is always a pleasure. And to see so many psyched new faces is a thrill! Can’t wait for the season to begin!
Thank you to all of our amazing parents for stepping up to either learn or teach how to judge and belay! And thanks to our graduates (😭!) @elaina.k.p @owmarsh12 @hwalkerclimbs and @sausage_swiper for helping out! taken in Übergrippen Indoor Climbing Crag by @teamgrippen

First week of ÜberCrushers was a blast! We had a lot of fun learning to set, working on our speed climbing, lead skills, climbing outside at Staunton State Park, and a super fun relay race. Thanks to our coaches @emorydombkowski @hwalkerclimbs @sarah_lynnr and @cgilbertsend for creating fun ways to learn and grow as individuals and as a team, and to @denvermountainguiding and their awesome guides for such a great time outside! by @teamgrippen

Region 41 Team Champions!!! These guys made some team goals at the beginning of this season and this was one of them. They built each other up, held each other accountable, and worked hard to earn this honor.
Region 41 may be spread out, but we are so lucky to compete alongside so many amazing teams, like @newmexicomojo, @clmbiq, & @eagleclimbing, to name a few, that help to push us all to be our best.
Thank you, @gripstonecs, for hosting a great championship and having us for a practice the week before. Great job to all the setters and thank you parents and volunteers for making it possible to run. We appreciate you!!!
We’re looking forward to Division 4 Championships next week in Albuquerque. We have 26 athletes competing for a spot at nationals! @usacdivision4 @ugclimbing @ubergrippencastlerock @usaclimbing by @teamgrippen
