We left everything on the beach!

A long day of racing at the World Rowing Beach Sprint Championships, and we gave it all.

Isabel raced a thriller against Portugal in the knockouts. It came down to the final run up the beach, and she was just short of a spot in the quarterfinals. Gutted, but what a fight.

With a storm on the way, the schedule was shuffled and Isabel and Michiel raced the Mix2x on the same day. They beat Italy in the knockouts, then met a strong Spanish crew in the quarterfinals. It was close all the way to the line, but Spain had the edge.

Race day 1 here in Qingdao 🇨🇳

Big waves, tricky surf and conditions that asked everything of every crew.

Women’s solo and Mix2x through to the last 16

Tough luck for Amos, who was going well until a big wave flipped him over and ended his run before the last 16.
