178 miles. One mission. 💙🏃‍♂️This weekend, our Reno Tahoe Odyssey team gave everything they had for Eric and axeALS. Through every climb, every mile, and every sleepless hour, these incredible runners showed what it means to run with purpose. They ran for those who can’t. They ran to raise awareness. They ran to help bring us one step closer to a world without ALS.The miles were tough, but their commitment was tougher. They left everything out on the course, completing all 178 miles with heart, grit, and determination. (& we think under 24 hours!!!)We couldn’t be more proud of this team and the countless hours of training, sacrifice, and dedication they put in to make this journey possible. Meet Patrick Yalon — a true example of resilience, grit, and determination. After surviving a devastating surfing accident just a year and a half ago, Patrick underwent major surgery and was told he may never walk again. Since then, he’s not only defied the odds — he’s crushed them, including completing the grueling Moab 240 ultramarathon. Meet Zach Micks — longtime friend of Eric since their Pop Warner football days in 7th grade. From growing up together to now raising families of their own, their friendship has come full circle. As a dad of two daughters, Zach says running reminds him to lead by example and show them the value of doing hard things. Meet Kyle Suryan — founding board member of axeALS, dedicated supporter, and proud member of Team axeALS. After meeting Eric and Amanda shortly following Eric’s diagnosis, Kyle was deeply moved by their story and immediately committed himself to the mission of raising awareness and funds to fight ALS. Since day one, he’s been a constant source of support for both the foundation and the Stevens family, bringing leadership, compassion, and heart to everything he does.
